Peoria County State’s Attorney Jerry Brady and McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers discuss specialty courts, where individuals charged with certain crimes can avoid the normal criminal justice process if they follow a rehabilitative regimen. There are specialty courts for cases involving veterans, mental health, drugs and DUI. This is an effort to offer treatment rather than be punitive.
