Josh Reusser is here today to tell us about all the activities in January.
Hi Josh.
- Hello.
- So you've got lots.
And I know the big thing is the master plan.
You want input.
- Exactly.
Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation is one of the largest parks and recreation organizations in the West.
And we wanna make sure that we're providing the best options for activities and getting outside, inside, staying healthy within the Salt Lake Valley.
- And I know your big master plan, it's a draft.
- Yes.
- But you're looking for people's input.
- Yeah, every 10 years, we do a master plan update.
And we take the standards that are set by the National Parks and Recreation, and we put together a plan and then we get the input from the community because what good is a plan if nobody goes to visit your rec centers or parks?
- That's great.
I know you've already got some new trails you're working on.
- Yeah.
On the West side, we just put in some new trails, and we've got a lot of traction on those already.
So there's a lot of big things happening.
- Okay.
And people really should go and give their input, because we like that.
- Exactly.
- And I know winter activities, you've got a lot going on.
- Yeah.
Winter, despite being cold outside, people still wanna go ice skating on the inside.
And there's ski and snowboard programs, but we actually have some free ice skating programs coming up January 9th, 10th, and 11th for Learn to Skate.
And then in February some Learn to Play Hockey, some free programs there.
- Right.
And then for people who don't like the ice, you've got other options.
- Yes.
Lots of indoor activities with 20 recreation centers.
There's something for everybody.
- That's great.
And people can find out about everything, I know.
We're going to give them the website.
- Yes.
- And everything else.
And then they can go to those meetings.
- Exactly.
Go to the meetings, share your input.
We wanna know what you want in the Valley for Parks and Recreation.
- That's great.
That's great.
Thanks so much for being here.
