Crossroads

Sam Morey

11/27/1984 | 18m 4s

Samuel Morey of Fairlee was responsible for 20 patents during the 19th century.

The early 19th century saw the arrival of the industrial revolution and the establishment of that era's answer to today's so-called silicon valleys. Partly as a result of these high-tech stimuli, a crop of inventors sprang up...among them one Samuel Morey of Fairlee, Vermont and Oxford, New Hampshire. Morey (for whom Vermont's Lake Morey was named) was responsible for some 20 patents.
