Young jazz vocalist Samara Joy is a rising star.

Jazz vocalist Samara Joy is in her early 20s, but her deeply moving take on the standards brings to mind the greats. In 2019, she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, and her career took off. We catch Samara in performance at the Bethany Jazz Vespers in Newark and at The Apollo Theater. She describes how she wrote new lyrics to a jazz solo by Fats Navarro, and more.
