But it only seems to be picking up pace.
Sometimes I wish these moments would move slower.
Seems like the times that are nicer quickly end and fade away.
Another season's gone, it's getting colder.
There's no place in the world I'd rather be.
The leaves fall down, but the trees keep getting older.
Well, I'm past the age my parents were when they gave birth to me.
Well, I'm past the age my parents were when they created me.
I am older now, and so are my friends.
Some have families and some have wound up dead.
Such a fragile existence that we live.
You could wake up one day and see that you were gone.
You could wake up one day and see that you were,...... Gone.
Gone.
Gone.
You were gone.
I don't really feel like I'm much older.
Seems like yesterday I was turning 17.
But now a days I know that I am closer.
I'm past half the age of the average life expectancy.
And it's hard to see a memory in the moment.
Because the more time passes, more they fade away.
And the good ones, they get lost as we outgrow them.
Well, I'm past the age your parents were when they went separate ways.
Well, I'm past the age your parents were when they went separate ways.
And I am older now and so my friends.
Some have families and some have wound up dead.
Such a cruel existence that we live.
You could wake up one day and see that you were gone.
You could wake up one day and see that you were,..... And you were drowning.
You were slowly way down.
You were falling.
You were slowly fading.
Bap, ba, ba, ba ba, badida.
You were breaking in half another Adderall.
You were shaken, Caffeine mixed, too much alcohol.
Spinning lies.
I am older now and so are my friends.
Some have families, some have wound up dead.
It's such a cruel existence that we live.
You could wake up one day and see that you were gone.
You could wake up one day and see that you were,..... gone.
We are just Samuel Wilbur, so it's, kind of a solo act.
And then I have this, I get different musicians, Whoever can help.
Fill in the bill.
And I got a great crew today.
It's so fun to meet new musicians and get to play with different people.
And then we take the songs that I've written, and each time we play, it's a new, new setup.
Well, I wouldn't change the seasons.
Cause I like how they change.
Sometimes the only reason everyday doesn't feel the same.
And I think that it's working.
Cause I'm starting to feel it.
In this moment that we’re That we're waiting through will finally come to an end.
And we can finally choose to spend a month in our bed.
Cause we've got nothing to lose.
Yeah, we can finally rest.
Yeah, we can finally rest.
Well, I woke up feeling better.
The sun was in the sky.
And there's something about this weather.
Makes you feel a little more alive.
Now the snow is finally melting.
There's a flood across my street.
And the world has always felt things.
When there's a new season to greet.
And I think that it's working.
Cause I’m starting to feel it.
In this moment that we’re waiting through, will finally come to an end.
And we can finally choose to spend a month in our bed.
Cause we've got nothing to lose.
Yeah, we can finally rest.
Yeah, we can finally rest.
It's like I'm always waiting for one day.
It's just a little out of reach.
Maybe I will get there someday.
Just gotta make it through this week.
To a time when we feel happy.
To a time we call our own.
To a time when we can enjoy ourselves, from the, the comfort of our home.
And I think that it's working.
Cause I'm starting to feel it.
In this moment that we're waiting through.
Finally come to an end.
And we can finally choose, to spend a month in our bed.
Cause we've got nothing to lose.
Yeah, we keep finally rest.
Yeah, we can finally rest.
Singing la da la da da da da da da la da da da da da da da la da da da da da.
Singing, La da la da da da da da da da la da da da da da da da la da da da da da Singing, La da da da da da da da da da la da da da da da da da la da da da da.
Singing, La da la da da da da da da da la da da da da da da da da da da da da da.
So it always starts with the instrument in my hand.
I know some artists like, write lyrics first.
I'm always instrument first, and then I generally just started singing random words and it's more like motive and melodies.
And so these things come out and, I like recording myself on my phone, just kind of strumming a chord progression for like ten minutes, and then I'll listen back and I'll kind of pull these like, gems of little word phrases or, you know, yeah, turns of phrase that I say I like, ooh, that could be something.
And then I kind of can build it from there and then just kind of keep on, playing them over and over, writing the lyrics out and kind of whittling them down, like, what do I want to say here?
What should the verse, verse two be about?
If the verse one was about this, how could we build on that theme in verse two?
Music has always been such a, like a therapeutic release.
So if I'm, if I'm frustrated about something or overwhelmed by something, I always grab an instrument and I can kind of just, things just start kind of coming out.
I made you a promise.
And I give you a ring.
And you helped make me honest.
I tried to make you sing.
And I could not have asked for more after all.
After all, I have done.
You scaled up my castle wall, After all, after all, I had won And I used to wake up at night, cause I couldn't wait for the day.
But now I stay up through the night, cause I'm not ready to face the sunlight.
The sun day.
The sunrise.
The sun fades away.
And I wrote you a story.
And you gave me a name.
And I felt all the glory.
And every time you sang.
And I could not have asked for more.
After all, after all I had done.
And you scaled up my castle wall.
After all, after all we had won.
And I used to wake up at night.
Cause I couldn't wait for the day.
But now I stay up through the night.
Cause I'm not ready to face the sunlight!
The sun day.
The sunrise.
The sun fades away.
Is there anybody else?
Is there anybody else?
Well, there's always someone else.
But they're not like you.
They're not like you.
And I guess you could say I was nervous even more than I thought I would be.
Cause how can you act like you know for a fact how the rest of your lives gonna be?
The sunlight!
The sun day!
The sun rise!
The sun fades, away.
I have a new song that will be performing today, it's called Everything's Falling Apart.
And so sometimes it feels like that's happening.
Right?
In the world?
Right?
We kind of get overwhelmed with, bad news, on the news every night, and the song goes, everything is falling apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
So it's about.
It's about my wife.
It's about going through life with this, you know, living in the country we live in that can be so divided and, trying to hold onto, to hope and finding the things like friends and community to, and even this country.
I love this country.
And I want to, I want us to succeed and to, So to go through these kind of dark, what feels like darker times are like this, this levels of dread that we can sometimes feel, to hold on to those things that we love.
And, it helps us survive.
I couldn't tell you where I've been or where will end up being.
When the light, when the light has been lifted off of me.
Will this world survive to see another century?
We've been blind, we've been blind.
No one's listening to,.. Cause everything is falling apart, apart, but I'm still in love with you.
The whole world's falling apart, apart, but I'm still in love with you.
Cause, I’ve been doing fine.
Yeah, I've been getting older.
It's better when it's blind.
Is it really over?
Should you bring new life into a world hanging on by a thread.
Is there a time?
Is there time or is it over before it ends?
What kind of future will our children raise their kids?
Is there a line?
Is there a line that we crossed over once?
Cause everything's falling apart, apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
The whole world's falling apart, apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
And everything's falling apart, apart, But I'm still in love with you.
Whole world's falling apart, apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
Cause, I've been doing fine.
Yeah, I've been seeing so clear.
It's better when it's blind.
It's better when it's so near.
I’m going where I’m going, And I can't separate it.
Tired of making up my mind.
I’ve know what I've known since second grade.
But now I need a little more time.
Tell me, why are you still following me?
Tell me why are you still following me?
Cause I'm a man of good faith.
I'm a man of good.. Cause everything is falling apart, apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
Whole world's falling apart, apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
Everything's falling apart,apart.
But I'm still in love with you.
And would you fall in love.
When the world is falling for you.
And everything's better when I’m with you, with you, with you, with you again.
It's better when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you again.
And better when I’m.... Do do do do do do do do do do do do do.
Better when I’m.... Do do do do do do do do do do do do do.
Better when I’m with you.
I’ll build you something that lasts.
I’ll build you something that’s good.
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo.
You were just my type, And somehow I knew.
Was it at first sight, Or should I walk twice through?
I think I felt it in my bones when I was alone.
I guess you know it when, you know.
Let's build a Home!
And start a family.
It's what you do.
Fill it with gold and all the memories.
But this is where I've been a long, long time.
This is where I've been a long, long time.
This is where I've been the whole damn time next to you.
You know it's true.
And I know that you and I will live forever.
And I know that you and I were meant to be.
In fact, I think it's time to let me get out.
We’ve taken this old road as far as It will lead.
You were not my height, But it's tall for you.
Seeing eye to eye on the follow through I heard you again I heard you talking in your sleep last night.
I heard you saying you would be my wife.
Let's build a home!
Start a family.
It's what you do.
Fill it with gold!
And all our memories.
But this is where I've been a long, long time.
This is where I've been a long, long time.
This is where I’ve been the whole damn time.
Next to you.
You know it's true.
And I know that you and I will live forever!
I know that you and I were meant to be!
In fact, I think it's time we finally get out and take in this old road as far as it will.
And I know you never sleep.
When I wake you're always gone.
I miss the warmth inside the sheets.
When I wake you're always gone.
But this is where I've been the long, long time.
This is where I've been a long, long time.
This is where I’ve been the whole damn time, next to you.
You know it's true!
And I know that you and I will live forever!
Hey, I know that you and I were meant to be!
In fact, I think it's time to finally get out We've taken this all road as far as it will lead!
Singing laaaaa!
You got me feeling fine.
I'm singing whoooooaaa.
You got me feeling high.
I'm singing laaaaaaa.
You got me feeling fine.
I'm singing whoa!
You got me feeling fine!
