Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship# His bed may be on the side of the road # - The blankets that we are making and distributing to the homeless.
The goal is to break the numbness, the stagnation of the humanitarian crisis that's in the city with so much.
- Annice called me back in August to tell me about that she had.
I want to make blankets, call attention to the issue of homelessness, and I want to call it Under Cover.
I loved it right away, I was hooked.
- And what we came up with is a, it's a blanket that can also be worn as a poncho.
So, it has a hood attached to it.
They're fully lined with fleece, and then the outer material is a water repellent rain wear.
- And so, a project like this sort of opens the door to explore that conversation further, and maybe even come up with solutions that could feel more proactive than what's been done so far.
- There's no reason we can't use the same ingenuity we use to build Burning Man in seven days and take it down that's full of charm and gorgeous community to build wonderful structures that are worth living in.
Give people a chance to heal and to reveal their ways in which they can participate constructively and reenter the total community.
# Under Cover in the city lights # The silent fight # The golden fire in our hearts # - What you selling this for?
- We're not we're giving them away.
That's part of the project.
- Really, that is really cool of you guys.
