Cannabis group says the biggest obstacle with adapting to change, is lack of education
Under the new legislation, the possession and use of marijuana is legal in NJ by anyone over 21. They can have up to 6 ounces of weed on them without facing any penalty. However, there is a provision barring police officers from contacting parents of minors caught with marijuana on their first offense or stopping them based on suspicion.
