In 1990, Johnnetta Cole was tasked with honoring Nelson Mandela on behalf of participating schools of the United Negro College Fund. Jeffrey Brown talks to Cole, now director of the National Museum of African Art, about personally presenting Mandela with a quilt and what the former South African president has meant to her.
