Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipToday is the first in the, seasonal, sea chanty evenings, and we're working our way up to about 30 of them.
We've got about 20 that we do know.
They come from all over.
Sailor songs used to pass the time and to develop this rhythmic energy that it requires to sail a boat.
Anyone who is willing to lend their voice to something, and as can be told by my voice, you don't really need to have much of a voice to sing sea chanties.
So just show up here at 3:00 every other Sunday, first Sunday and third Sunday generally of each month, just firing up now because it's getting a little cool outside.
I expect attendance to be a little sparse because it's so nice out today, but, but by Christmas there might be 70 80 people here, and you can generate a lot of sound with that.
Give it a try.
It's really enjoyable.
It's it's a lot of fun.
It may not be for everybody, but it can be for a lot of people.
