Hydros on the water.
Jets in the sky and a city coming together to celebrate.
This is Seafair, one of Seattle’s longest running community traditions.
The Blue Angels are a Seafair favorite for many, but when they're not doing that, where do they stay?
What do they do?
Let's explore.
This is the Washington Athletic Club, Seattle's skyscraper of sports, but it is also a boutique hotel and where the Blue Angels and their families stay every year.
It's downtown Seattle.
Rush hour.
What do the Blue Angels do when they need to commut..
I think they got it covered.
We're here at Brunch and the Blues, a fundraiser and a chance for WAC members to experience Seafair up close and personal before the flights begin.
All right, what does the Blue Angels and Seafair mean to Seattle?
Lots of fun and excitement.
Gets the whole city united together for a good strong month.
What makes the Blue Angels so great?
The thrill.
Later in the weekend, WAC members set sail for a front row seat on the Blues cruise just in time for the airshow.
Suzana, can you tell me about the history and significance of the WAC partnership with Seafair?
Oh my gosh, this goes back way back decades and it really just speaks to building community.
That's what the WAC does, that's what Seafair does.
It brings all of us together around a common purpose, around a common cause, and it's just a wonderful thing to celebrate.
The Washington Athletic Club is just part of Seattle.
They brought people together for years as an example here, where we're celebrating Seafair.
From the lake to the sky, Seafair is pure Seattle, and for many, the WAC is right at the heart of it.
I'm Angela.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see you.
