Republican Bill Spadea and Democrat Sean Spiller have entered the race
Sean Spiller, who is the mayor of Montclair and president of the NJEA, the state’s largest teacher union, has joined the Democratic contest. Previously declared candidates for the Democratic nomination were former Senate President Steve Sweeney, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.

Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipit was already a crowded field but now the race for New Jersey's next Governor just grew by two more candidates declaring his run as a Democrat is Sean Spiller who's the mayor of Monclair president of the njaa which is the state's largest teachers union and a member of the NJ PBS Community Advisory Board and announcing as a republican candidate is Bill spadia host of a New Jersey 101.5 radio morning show and former host of the chasing news TV show now spia is now the fourth Republican in the race joining state Senator John bramnick three-time gubinatorial candidate Jack Chelli and Ed Durr the trucker from South Jersey who ousted Senate President Steve Sweeney and served one term as state senator before being ousted himself on the Democratic side Spiller also makes four joining Sweeney Jersey city mayor Steve Phillip and Newark mayor RZ Baraka but if you think it stops there there's likely more to come Congressional Representatives Mikey Cheryl and Josh gimer are expected to run on the Democratic ticket and with no party line on the ballot for Dems this election which is still more than a year away is gearing up to be one interesting and probably grueling election season [Music]
