During his remarks, Senator McConnell said the US needs to stand up to Russia and China.
He and he compared current conflicts conflicts to the years leading up to World War Two.
I think the American public is not yet fully aware of the challenges that we have in the world today.
It's reminiscent of that period before World War Two.
Basically, he thought it would all go away if we just ignored it.
But that's clearly not going to happen again this time, at least without me making a contrary argument.
Senator McConnell also thanked the Kentucky National Guard for their sacrifices.
Last fall, Iran backed forces attacked a U.S. base in Jordan.
That attack killed three soldiers and injured several others, including Kentuckians.
