Senator.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky appears to be the first Republican senator to criticize President Trump's planned military parade this Saturday.
Here's Senator Paul talking to reporters yesterday.
Never been a big fan of goose stepping soldiers in big tanks and missiles rolling down the streets.
If you asked me, I wouldn't have.
I wouldn't have done it.
I'm not sure what the actual experience of it is, but I'm not really.
You know, we were always different than, you know, the images you saw of the Soviet Union and North Korea.
We were proud not to be that.
And I don't, I'm not proposing that.
That's the image you want to project, but I'm worried about the image that it isn't necessarily the best image to show.
It's expected that some 7000 soldiers will be a part of the parade Saturday in Washington, D.C..
The parade honors the 250th birthday of the U.S. military.
It's also President Trump's 79th birthday.
Protests are also planned.
President Trump says any protest at the parade will be met with force.
