♪ Sarah: I literally wouldn't be here if it weren't for Bear Music.
Bear Records were a huge part of why I wanted to even become a musician in the first place.
For me, to actually get to be onstage and sing with them and play these songs and share a whole night of music with them is, honestly, quite surreal.
So it's--I'm grateful to them for even, you know, welcoming me into the fold.
Very special.
Shawn Colvin: I think the best feeling that I get about my own musicianship, if you will, is when I've finished writing a song I think that I'm proud of, that I feel is good.
That's the hardest thing I do, and it's--ends up, because of that, I think in part, being the most rewarding.
And then, of course, that isn't enough after a while and you gotta do it all over again.
Marc Cohn: There's nothing like finishing a song you're proud of.
It happens the least of all the things I really like.
I don't--there aren't many of those days when I'm proud of a song.
It's very rare, and I think I love it because it's so rare.
But finishing a song and playing it until it sort of becomes part of your DNA, and then you get to take that personal thing out to the world, that's the greatest.
Sarah: We've all traveled all over the world and played a bunch of different places and, when you get to a place where there is the care and the warmth, it's immediately obvious.
Marc: I love seeing people's faces.
I wouldn't wanna see everybody, but seeing the first couple of rows, I like that.
Having people close to each other and enjoying this thing together is a rare thing.
It doesn't--it's not something you can expect.
You just hope for it.
Shawn: You can just--you feel that, and I think the audiences obviously feel it too: "This is something they're proud of," I would imagine.
It's a very special place.
It's just got warmth, the sound is great.
That makes a big difference.
It can be the most special place in the world and if it's not a good-sounding venue, we're just screwed.
They've done it right, you know?
It's been done right.
I give it an A-plus.
Marc: I concur.
Sarah: So do I.
