Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship>> BACK WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE, I USED TO HEAR THEM SAY IT.
MY PROFESSORS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON, YOU KNOW, THE ADULTS.
THE GROWNUPS.
THEY'’D SAY, "“I JUST LOVE BEING AROUND THE YOUNG PEOPLE.
"” "“I JUST FEED OFF THAT YOUTHFUL ENERGY.
"” AND I WOULD THINK, YOU BUNCH OF OLD VAMPIRES.
GET YOUR FANGS OUT OF MY NECK.
WELL, HONEY, THOSE ARE WORDS THAT I AM EATING LIKE THE FUN-SIZE CANDY BARS THAT I'’M GIVING OUT FOR HALLOWEEN.
BECAUSE NOW I AM PROFESSOR SHELETTA.
YES, THAT'’S YOUR GIRL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, AT THE HUBBARD SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATIONS.
I'’M WORKING WITH THE YOUNG GOPHERS TO SHARE WHAT I KNOW ABOUT PODCASTING, STORYTELLING AND MAKING A LIVING MIXING UP THE WORDS AND THE PICTURES, THE VOWELS AND CONSONANTS.
AND I HAVE TO SAY, JUST ONE WEEK IN, I'M IN LOVE WITH THESE COLLEGE STUDENTS!
THEY HAVE NOT BEEN BEATEN DOWN BY LIFE LIKE MOST OF US.
THEY ARE SO OPTIMISTIC, EAGER.
SO MANY FRESH IDEAS!
BEING IN THE CLASSROOM IS LIKE GETTING A SHOT OF B-12!
I JUST DRINK IT UP!
SO MAYBE I GOT TO APOLOGIZE TO Dr. BETH OLSON AND ALL THE PROFESSORS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON FROM BACK IN THE DAY BECAUSE NOW I GET IT OF.
NOW I GET IT.
NOW I'M SAYIN' IT.
"“I JUST LOVE BEING AROUND THE YOUNG PEOPLE.
"” "“I JUST FEED OFF THAT YOUTHFUL ENERGY.
