Should Fluoride In Drinking Water Be Mandated?

Clip: Season 3 Episode 195 | 1m 36sVideo has Closed Captions

A bill that could remove a mandate on fluoride in drinking water is again up for debate.

The House passed House Bill 16, sponsored by State Rep. Mark Hart. The bill would let water districts decide whether to put fluoride in drinking water. Right now, it's a state requirement. Supporters say the requirement is an unfunded mandate, and that fluoride can lead to health problems. Opponents say the absence of fluoride will hurt children't teeth and cause other health problems.
