In Puerto Rico, skilled workers are out of jobs as businesses struggle to stay open

Jose Manuel, also known as Manolo, has also experienced losses from Hurricane Maria. A scenographer and sound technician, the hurricane destroyed his workshop and disbanded his toolkit. It also forced his work to close. As a last resort, Manuel has resolved to stay through the reconstruction and has begun working with FEMA. Manuel’s biggest concern is that PR is losing their labor force.
