HUNDREDS OF UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO SCIENTISTS WILL BE TAKING OVER, OFFERING DEMONSTRATIONS TO INSPIRE THE WHOLE FAMILY GONE.
>> WE NAMED IT THAT FESTIVAL FOR A REASON.
WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT FOLKS ON THE SOUTH SIDE HAVE BEEN HERE FOR MANY YEARS.
WE ARE REALLY TRYING TO OPEN OUR ARMS TO GET MORE FOLKS TO SEE THEMSELVES IN THIS FIELD.
THEY ARE TRYING TO GET INVOLVED WITH FREE PROGRAMS YEAR-ROUND.
THEY ARE THE CAREERS OF THE FUTURE.
WHEN FOLKS COME, THEY CAN LEARN ABOUT INTERNSHIPS THAT THEY CAN HAVE.
THEY CAN GET CONNECTED TO FOLKS WHO ARE DOING IT, AND PRACTICING THE WORK RIGHT NOW.
IT IS ANOTHER EVENT WHERE SOMEONE CAN REACH THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
>> WE ARE WORKING FROM THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL, ALL THE WAY UP.
I CAN DO REALLY COOL DEMONSTRATIONS.
THEY CAN MAKE ICE CREAM THAT IS MADE WITH LIQUID NITROGEN.
THEY CAN MAKE SOLAR ENCRYPTIONS.
THEY CAN HAVE OTHER ANIMALS.
IT WILL BE VERY FUN, VERY HANDS-ON, AND A GREAT WAY TO GET BLACK AND BROWN KIDS DOWN.
THEY WILL BE OUT.
THEY WILL BE DOING OTHER EVENTS.
FOLKS CAN SEE PEOPLE IN THE FIELD.
SOME CASES, IT LOOKS LIKE THEM.
WE ARE TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO CONNECT.
WE WANT YOU TO STAY AND GET ENGAGED.
THIS IS WHAT WE NEED ABOUT THE SCIENCE VESSEL.
WHAT IS MY ENTRY POINT?
MAYBE YOU DON'T WANT TO DO QUANTUM PHYSICS.
MAYBE YOU FIND CHEMISTRY SUPER INTERESTING.
YOU'RE TRYING TO THINK OF ONE MAKES ICE CREAM.
YOU ARE ADDING CHEMISTRY.
I THINK THAT FESTIVAL IS A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN COME AND FIND YOUR PLACE IN SCIENCE THROUGH
