Spelling Bee Champion Honored at School

The National Spelling Bee Champion received a special welcome when she returned to school.

12-year-old Ananya Vinay won the 2017 Scripps National Spelling Bee. She received a special welcome from students and staff at Fugman Elementary School, in Clovis Unified, when she returned to school after a week-long national media tour. Her first day back was also the last day of the school year. The champion speller will be starting middle school in August.
