Normally at a concert, the clapping you hear is done by the audience. But in this case, the performers do the clapping. It's a short piece by contemporary composer Steve Reich entitled (you guessed it) "Clapping Music." Two Curtis Institute student percussionists clap out an African-style bell pattern which is slowly permutated before getting back in to phase at the end.
