At GlassRoots in Newark, hot glass transforms the lives of urban youths.

GlassRoots ignites the creative and economic vitality of greater Newark with a focus on underserved youth and young adults through the transformative power of the glass art experience. We meet Executive Director Barbara Heisler, students in the GlassRoots industrial glass making class, and teaching artist Jason Minami as he works with a group of Newark high school kids in the hot shop.
