The cameras are a result of legislation passed during this year's Kentucky General Assembly.
Starting this summer, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin placing cameras in highway work zones. The cameras are part of new legislation passed by the Kentucky General Assembly. Officials say work zones with cameras will have warning signs to alert drivers that they're being used. Drivers caught speeding will be issued a $500 fine.
