New York state senator Peter Harckham opens up about his battle with addiction.

State Senator Peter Harckham is a freshman Democratic lawmaker who, during a news conference in January, unexpectedly admitted that he had battled with addiction. Harckham says he hit rock bottom in the 1980s, but he sought treatment and now, after more than 30 years sober, is leading a bipartisan task force combating the worsening opioid crisis in New York. He joins Michel to discuss this work.
