Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship[Music] it is football Fridays in Georgia on Georgia Public Broadcasting tonight we are live from historic Hallford Stadium for a rivalry game between Southwest DeKalb and 2nd ranked Stephenson high school good evening everybody I'm Trey McDaniel alongside Keelan Johnson and Kela it's that time of year we're starting getting the rivalry games and talk about how the intensity level is ratcheted up in a scenario like this man it's big it's just atmosphere so on a whole nother level schools 11 miles apart as you can tell and these kids know each other they grew up with each other they played part one about each other this game matters because you got bragging rights to the rest of your life bragging rights for the team and we'll find out later bragging rights for the bands as well one of the spotlights of this game as well not just the guys on the field let's get to the guys on the field let's talk about Southwest at cap first they've got a two-way player and a shut Moore and he's been one of the lone bright spots for them talk about the two-way player this young man plays both sides of Boggs plays off this a tackle and he also plays safety that's unusual this guy's the best player on their team and the coaches knows his needs and he knows the needs of this team that's why he doesn't mind planning let's talk about Stephenson they're chock-full of talent they always put a lot of guys in college the guy that's gonna tote the rock tonight is Dallas Rivers he's got 10 touchdowns they really count on him they definitely count on him for many reasons because your scores touchdowns that's what it's all about you want to put the ball and you play back the hand you have 10 touchdowns on the season he's their workhorse and he deserves to get the rock each and every time it ought to be one heck of a game here in historic alford Stadium when we send it downstairs for the first time tonight standing by on the sidelines is John Nelson [Music] some technical diplomatic side line for some Alison and there he is right there John what you got all right good evening to all of you and however you're watching this evening whether it's on GPB television on the web at gpb.org or if you're paying attention to us on the app and it's a tale of two coaches let's start off with Southwest DeKalb and Michael tanks Michael tanks is replacing buck Godfrey and there's a six letter word when it comes to Godfrey it is the word legend thirty years at Southwest a cab tanks knows what he's gotten into but he's seeing a growth curve in his squad because remember they had a scrimmage scheduled against Newton it got weathered out so the loss against pebble Brook kind of alarmed some folks just because of the margin of the loss but he's seeing growth in his squad every week and he knows what it's going to take it's going to take a long-term process to get Southwest to camp back to where they were he's very proud of his junior class so is now the official granddaddy of DeKalb County coaches in Ron Gartrell his 17th season at Stephenson and it's the only program that he's ever been a part of as a head coach he was an assistant at Washington wilkes then he was an assistant at shamrock shamrock dissolved as a school and then Stephenson was created the principal from shamrock turned into the principal over at Stephenson Ron Gartrell has turned this into the Stephenson way and the Stephenson machine for getting athletes to the next level so guys when you talk about these two coaches and these two squad it's a great rivalry here in region six 5a and it's going to be interesting to see how these star junior classes are going to respond under these Friday Night Lights let's send it upstairs and light this candle and maybe there'll be some band stuff with me later on I don't know well we'll look forward to a job and know what happened last year let's get into our keys to success brought to you by the Georgia peanut Commission peanuts the powerpack snack for the big game Kailyn well first and foremost Southwest at the cap Panthers on office they have to make third down convergence you just don't know how important that is for a football team who's definitely have to downsize this football game and you have to protect the ball no turnovers on the off inside ball for the defense side of the ball you have two blitz on first down set the tone right from the jump let Stevenson know I'm here to stay and I'm going to be showing the whole game and stay away from third that third and short they are very good and run the ball you know who they're gonna give it the ball to their number one running back who has 10 touchdowns on the season so you do not want to get yourself in a position to get him going now take us through the Stephenson keys Stephenson keys for the Jaguars on office keep the run pass bounce there do a lot of things great they can throw the ball well and they also can run the football so you want to make sure that you've continued and keep that balance on defense stay aggressive from the jump you have to get into this game this is a robbery game this game is very important so you have to be aggressive from the jump take good angles on a defense side the ball because this game is a hike game both bands are happy to be here I'm happy to be here Trey let's get this thing going baby a hype game is a good way to put it back in 1996 Stephenson high school open they took a lot of students and they took a lot of student-athletes away from Southwest DeKalb that's why this is such a heated rivalry to different sides of the coin tonight as Southwest DeKalb comes in having just won with victory on the season they're one in three Stephenson is undefeated they're the number two team in the state of Georgia but like you said if Southwest DeKalb can get up early in the game I think they can have success and you see buck Godfrey John aptly called him a legend and he sure was thirty years coaching for this football team 173 wins a state championship in 1995 13 region championships and 26 playoff appearances as a coach if you're out there watching and we miss you on the sideline now guys you talked about that legend that but Godfrey is think about the impact that he's had not only in DeKalb County as a coach but in DeKalb County as a mentor all of the kids going to Southwest the cab that have made something of their lives not just as football players but they could be a lawyer they could be a doctor they could be doing a nine-to-five job just like the rest of us he's had more of an impact on a lot of kids across the board over the last 30 years he's sorely going to be missed as a Renaissance man here in DeKalb County but obviously you know that his presence isn't too far away yeah and the one thing that I love about the cab County football especially coach Gartrell who coach tank said is the granddaddy now and head I loved about coach Godfrey I'm not saying that his passion for football ever waned but one of the reasons he stayed so long is because he wanted to have an impact in young men's lives he wanted to see them go on kealan and become successful fathers successful employees successful husbands and just contribute in society and that's what I love so much about both those guys coach Godfrey coach gartrell and now coach tanks on the sidelines for the Panthers well to be honest with me I had an opportunity to play with Coast Guard Tail Sun and tomorrow your mentor and Craig Lumpkin three guys who definitely is going off to the NFL do great things and become fathers become those mentors I think both of these coaches stand for in their program and then you look at my critiques the head coach for him he brings a lot to the table to who's been here for a while and he's both nice both of these teams I lacked look if for a big dogfight tonight yeah Michael tanks is one heck of a football player in his own right he was an all-american sinner at Florida State University and so trust me when he speaks the Panthers listen he's gonna have a lot of influence not having a lot of success this year but as John mentioned their junior class is one to watch out for if those guys adapt to the big stage tonight we could have ourselves quite a dogfight so we'll get ready for kickoff here Southwest DeKalb will kick the ball off we're in their home white uniforms and Stephenson looking ominous and they're all black home you nice man one thing I told tomorrow you're meant to play defensive back with me he's actually Kok coaching the DBS I say man you guys look good in that black I know man I got some athletes over here so give us some pub so let's see what these DB is gonna do for Stephenson Khalil ladler and jarred Tucker the two corners will also be handling the kick return duties tonight for the Jaguars and we're just about underway he from Clarkston Georgia taken at the 10-yard line that's ladler makes a nice cut at the 25 and is eventually brought down just shy of the 30-yard line so Stephenson will start this rivalry game first and 10 at the 30 we'll see two quarterbacks tonight for Stephenson the starter is number 12 junior Giovanni weakly pretty good player in his own right just to junior 6-1 280 pounds he's thrown for 331 yards and five touchdowns and no interceptions and that's important you can see it off his coordinators Reggie Baul ex quarterback for Georgia Tech someone who I played against so I know there's a lot of attention to detail with this quarterback Giovanni just know he has a lot of expectation on him as the leader of this football club being a quarterback and to have a OC by Reggie ball I'm sure he's been coached up day in a day night Stephenson runs a pro-style office they will split out to a spread every now and then but you'll see a lot of this eye formation and this one will be blown dead before it starts looked like they wanted to try to get the ball to their playmaker Dallas Rivers on the first play of the game but it'll be a penalty on the Panthers let's take a look at your Stephenson offense brought to you by Regions Bank Devon Barnes the key number 68 the center for the big guys up for up for the Jags and a lot of talent at the skill position you'll see a lot of Dallas Rivers big-time talented tide in re works will get the ball as well and so after the five yard penalty its first down in five from the 35 yard line as we CLE will reset [Music] and here is Dallas rivers right side he's got an initial scene and he stays on his feet and picks up three yards let's take a look now for the first time tonight at the Southwest DeKalb defense under sized guys killin but these guys have a lot of speed but they're still coming into their own Tamara cook Brandon Wiggs and rock Yassin are really the highlight for their defense they've been really the consistency so far despite the three losses definitely pay attention to rock on the outside outside linebacker it's only in a tip parade his first year playing football so you make sure you guys keep out on and here you see that spread look we just alluded to two receivers to the top one to the bottom as weekly backs up into the shotgun and they give it to Dallas Rivers they try to stretch this down the 25 26 yard line a big first down and a nice run by Dallas Rivers and if we get a replay of this check this out I want you to pay attention to the black in the outside of the receiver one thing you have to be able to do it's important in the running game is a receiver look at that block right there you have to be able to get your feet moving get your hands up in between look at that block right there coming in on outside your screen right there by the receiver that's why they pull with the mood to change on this down that's number one junior receiver Dexter Neal will see him on the passing game he does a great job blocking on the outside and rivers shows you why he scored 10 touchdowns this year he's going to carry the load and it could be a long night for Southwest DeKalb that they can't stop the gun because that's what gartrell wants to do here's rivers again up the middle again into the second level before being thrown down at the 14 yard line another jaguar first down on the hardest place has stopped in football when you have really good up fronts meaning offensive line is the lead draw this is one thing lead straight up right off the ride off the v gap they can't stop this plate like you say it's gonna be a long night but Southwest to cap the young man we just talked about rocky Osteen just saved a touchdown first and 10 from the 14 yard line no problem moving the ball on the ground up at this point for the Jaguars they go back to the I formation [Applause] [Music] the up back is Avante Patterson rivers back deep they throw for the first time it's Neal Neal makes a move inside now cuts inside again and is brought down at the 6 yard line just a nice fishing catch pitch trout getting the ball out to Neal as you can see some of his athleticism he brings to the table this is one thing that this Stephenson does well they get the ball really quick to their receivers see what you can get with your feet what they know see us in my receiver is better your cornerback and as you can tell right there you did a great job there's rivers and they stuffed them for the first time tonight coming up to make the tackle it's middle linebacker number 52 Brandon Wiggs and that will bring up second down and about two yards stealing that's the first time tonight that the d-line plug the hole yeah that's one thing you have to do I talked about penetration if they have to get penetration you have to be aggressive you know it's it's the beginning of the game both of these teams are they've been here before this is a robbery reign they know the fans are cranking as you can see here in our microphones here they have to stop playing no they left with one bad plays to the next one place one big place this next week that's just how it is man my father would be happy if he was in stands a night music like I said you know trails of drum majors with funk cutting to college and I grew up in this atmosphere it feels good to be be at home sorta it's awesome and here goes rivers tries to test the outside on 3rd and 2 and a great job by the Southwest of cab defense Branden wigs in on the tackle once again playing sideline to sideline as the middle linebacker yeah there you go that's one thing that you really have to pay attention to on a defense side of all what makes a good defender when you have an ally go for and also when you're being blocked you get off the block and make the tackle great job by gain tackle by Southwest in calculus this brings up fourth down and one and it doesn't look like the punt team is on the field wisdom Mzee d is the punter number 29 he is not in right now for the personnel I was downstairs downstairs looking at Wiggins Brandon Wiggins bounced down stairs in warm-ups and I'm just looking at the special fit that he brings as you can see some of his stats there it brings a lot to the table with this defense we run sideline to sideline and that's one thing that's bringing college scouts to this game you will see the crowd will get the camera in the stadium for a second but people are happy to see these players out here man this is a tradition this is history and this game is always going to be a very exciting game these players get up for this game yeah they do and we've got a big play forthcoming in a few moments it's fourth down in one Stephenson brought their offensive personnel on the field and then the cat-and-mouse game yeah Southwest DeKalb all the time out to talk it over and there goes the Banat they haven't stopped playing think of it playing about a good three four minutes so far it's more of a cardiac workout over in the stands than it is down on the field tonight yeah and here comes 4th down in one and it looks like despite the Southwest DeKalb timeout Stevenson's going to opt to run a play here unless they try to draw them offsides they'll go back to the I formation looks like weekly will be under center what's the worst thing can happen here Trey if you if you don't get the first down it's like a flint put so you've got yourself what's at average garden he is stacked up he did break the plane of the 5 yard line he needed to get to the 4 it's gonna be awfully close based on the spot I don't think they got it there Trey oh they gave it to him they're gonna go ahead and give it to them so Dallas rivers second effort pays off big and it'll set up first and goal it's another lead right up the middle as you can see they're chairman kuk on the tackle this one wasn't enough and they're going hurry up back to the i-formation first down and goal they're throwing this time looking for Neal faded out and it is broken up out of bounds and a late flag comes in looked like Neal was being guarded there by really a ski Patterson and hard to tell from up here Kela I don't want to be critical I'm not so sure that's P I yeah if it's kind of close there man you can see the officials there referee Willie Cosby one thing about one thing about high school sports you know the rules changes is you see good position by the defensive back like hurt the defensive back here he did not get his head around you have to be able to get your head around on that you can't have your hands on the receiver and not look back at the ball that's why it's passing fast good call by the record still 1st and gold rivers chest the left side and he's into the end zone easily in Stephenson scores first in Dallas River Sports touchdown number 11 on the 2013 season hey stick to what you know you're in the red zone you need to make a play put the ball in you playmaker hands very good off tackle run here's your touchdown replay brought to you by tcsg healing walk us through as you can see the floor back to straighten and clearing the way Dante Patterson that's this a great glob by making sure down let's hit the outside break the tackle and 4:6 and here's our first look at wisdom 2zd the very talented place kicker and punter for Stephenson you'll try to make it seven to nothing and there's a flag that comes in pre-snap we've got a little little movement on the right side of the offense of line there and that'll push him back a couple of yards still well within the CDs range 750 to go 1st quarter Stevenson strikes first blood [Applause] and the CDs kicked is up and it's good and it's Stephenson's seven to nothing so from Clarkston Georgia live on Georgia Public Broadcasting football Fridays a huge rivalry between Stephenson and Southwest DeKalb its Stephenson early was 752 [Music] the wheels of progress haven't been very active lately but because of business people like you things are beginning to get rolling and Regents is here to help making it easier with the expertise and service to keep those wheels turning from business loans to cash management we want to be your partner moving forward let's get going together back in Clarkston Georgia seven to nothing Stevenson / Southwest at cab Southwest DeKalb will get their first crack at it but kealan the initial drive for Stevenson looked like they wanted to establish the run and they did an awfully good job of it you see or tcsg scoring drive summary eight plays seventy yards four minutes till Owen Gould for office coordinate he goes and he talks to his team hey we want to make sure we milk the [ __ ] all right Portman is taking off the clock in it and then in that first Drive eight plays or more that's the goal Stevenson the CompStat and they finished with a touchdown we saw two and a half well we saw Stevenson tried going to the air a couple times but it's obvious that Stevenson wants to play this game in typical Jaguar fashion and they want to run the ball down southwest of cabs throughout Southwest acav stiffened up when they got down inside the 10 yard line but they couldn't quite stop them they're gonna have to make some adjustments on defense but we're going to get a look at their offense for the first time tonight in just a moment [Music] juzd boots it down into the end zone that'll be a touchback and look at our first look at Southwest DeKalb their quarterback number two senior Malcolm Anderson yeah this guy has a lot of pressure on him tonight he definitely has to put him put himself in the position to win if you look at his size it's only 510 I'm down there watch him in warm-ups and he's fairly looking over his offensive linemen but he has a very nice arm I can say that and he's kind of athletic wouldn't speak to as well so it keeps him in the packet don't let him get on the outside see person doesn't have a better chance to win his game one of the abnormal things about this game we got two quarterbacks tonight and neither one of them has thrown an interception and here running immediately is number 1 Mario Austen he's their primary ball carrier and he got stuck in the mouth first player that we hit that's right let's take a look at our region southwest of CAP starting offense a shud more at the offensive guard position he'll be playing both ways tonight also their strong safety mario austin will be their primary ball carrier and look out for Gabriel Richardson a very talented tight end wearing number four one of the best tight ends in the area so southwest a cab in years past they throw everything including the kitchen sink at you has gotten rid of the wing t look and they're primarily a spread team at least this year and there goes Malcom Anderson sprinting out to the right showing some speed and there's the arm that you were talking about Keeling but it's over the head of gabe Richardson let's take a look now at the Stephenson defense like it always is chock full of talent Chauncey rivers Dallas rivers younger brother who just scored a touchdown he's probably the stats tougher up front Malik Rick's and Abdul mahute and Dale Warren to your line backing core and they've got a great pair of corners in ladler and Tucker yeah one thing about these feats of deep when you look across the board these guys do a great job they have nothing but team players nobody's the star nobody gets all the love they all work to let really take care of the one goal one sound that's what makes their defense a very aggressive defense want it to a big game like this they go empty backfield five wide not something we're used to seeing from Southwest to cab and it looks like Anderson's looking for Gabe Richardson once again in a falls incomplete so it's a really quick offensive possession for Southwest DeKalb they'll be forced to punt the ball away Jacoby Riley number 11 who's also their starting split in will handle the punting duties well good you see number 22 well-worn one the most impactful players the most an active player to coach ever had on his defense as you see right there on third down showing up big three and out for the Stephenson defense and you saw his stats on the screen pretty impressive Toby Riley standing between the five and ten yard line to punt the ball away Tucker to return it he's very dangerous with the ball he reverses field he's got a couple blocks he finds the sideline and he gets turned back inside another crease he's still on his feet and just about breaks into the open field once again but he goes down at the 25-yard line great return by number nine sophomore Khalil ladler oh man miss electrifying as you can see it is mr. rational going to the East heading back to the West it's making something happen with your feet man as you can see what Stephenson has for years to come it's not too much of a drop-off when it comes to town it's the Stevenson high school tre you have guys like this coming in and out and somebody else is on the sideline after him waiting to test the ball good job Stephenson Robbie sends more kids into the college ranks to play football than any school in the state of Georgia 29 of 32 guy signed college scholarships back in 2009 and it hasn't tapered off much from there here's weekly deciding to carry the ball in his own and he gets stuck by Brandon Wiggs balls on the ground let's find out who happened in the southwest a cab what a hit by middle linebacker Brandon Wiggs he's been all over the field here in the early going and the big lick forces weekly to cough up the ball we've got our first turnover good job by Giovanni just making something happens with his feet but he did not look to his left and there you go he met mr. Brandon Wiggs with the huge hit and the fumble recovery good job as you see big man make that's what's supposed to do man look at this head look at this sound [Music] what a defensive player if you make the turnover it's great job but will you a cubby on turnover there you go that's even better that sounded good he's got the guys in the booth fired up first and ten for Southwest DeKalb after the huge turnover Anderson does a great job of finding the ball at his foot and finding a way to try to get it on the outside to Austin it's incomplete but it saves a yardage loss and it was a great job there by the Southwest DeKalb defense to nullify what was a phenomenal punt return by ladler they turn it into a turnover now they've got to try to do something with the ball well one thing about this you know you got you got to calm down it's your South celesta cab you got to get something going you got to get just got to get your offense moving get to get your running back to football and have a couple runs throw a couple safe passes to the flats you got to get this drive going intensities realize from both teams you got to be able to come there so you can run your office and here comes Southwest a cab in the i-formation for the first time tonight down in distances second down and ten from the 16 they give it to the up back and he is stuck immediately a tackle his defensive tackles senior Baxter Butler and it's 265 pounds stands in the way of really asking Patterson in the line of scrimmage look at this guy right here baby you can see how athletic he is up front one thing a coach let us know he demands double teams I'm telling if I was coaching again to him I need three or four guys on this guy 14 tackles on the year ten assists three and a half sacks 60f fells for those you don't know TF fails tackles for loss this guy stays in the backfield that's what you need from your defensive lineman I believe that would be his seventh TfL on the season as he introduces himself to really a ski Patterson and here comes Southwest to tab on third down in 12 in the I formation and now they - empty backfield and here as a flag could be a procedural penalty on the Panthers [Music] let me tell you one thing about a hostile environment when you have two bands that are really loud okay you see a lot of both teams they don't really understand the snap count sometimes you got a lot of the stretches they can hear the quarterback so they're kind of jumping off size because they ain't you you know that's why you really have to practice silence nap pouncing up how big atmosphere like tonight Anderson stepping up in the pocket he's got time this time he looks down the far sideline intended once again for Gabriel Richardson they've tried to go to the air three times Richardson has been the intended target all three but all three have been incomplete I believe Anderson paid forward after he got rid of the ball let's take a look at the replay they just seen sitting there you get fleshed out if I could throw it up yeah that's part of the job there Trey taking big hit stand in the pack in there and so now Jacoby Riley will have to punt the ball away for the second time tonight but this time he stands in his own end zone [Music] looks like Stevenson's trying to set up a return once again it'll be fielded at the 45-yard line that's ladler again one man to beat he's taken out of bounds at the 8 yard line my my my what a block Wow you can see this too Stevenson's ballclub is well coached when it comes to special teams these guys are electrifying magda see right there setting up the wall creating the edge that's what you want that's what makes special teams so exciting I love playing special teams because it plays just like that that was the senior Cameron Glen a perfectly legal hit and a deep leader and a great job by our camera crew to get a nice shot of the big hit and just like that it's first down in goal the turnover does not hurt Stephenson and they're sitting pretty at the 7 yard line hey shouts out to the punt of the Southwest capture Coley Riley getting in on the tackle he don't want it to he'll don't want nobody to take going on house on him now that's pretty good here's weakly using his legs he's got some room and he makes a nice spin move into the end zone for the touchdown so that's a one play drive seven yards in about three seconds off the clock and just like that Stevenson's up by a pair of touchdown I'm sure Giovanni was looking for a mr. Brandon Wiggs kind of Beck's you start to say outside this time great decision by getting to the edge making something happens with a steep quit six points which teams to high school you can see Reggie Baul no see hey man why did it throw the ball scoff coach I wanted to drown my feet I want to get my stats up - impressive job is he had to make a nifty move inside the 5-yard line to get into the endzone and he does so and here's wisdom 2zt it's a low end over end kick and it's good 14 to nothing stephenson now it's been all Stephens in this entire time saved for a turnover here's your tcsg touchdown replay take a look at number 12 this nice little rolled out local ops and the corner round looking for a fullback in the middle of the in the flats quarterback decided to keep it for himself hey that's the option you have you don't see anything they're running let's take a look at your Stephenson resume it's a jam-packed one 130 and 31 since 2007 region titles they've made the playoffs 13 straight season that's probably the most impressive 131 SEC signees in the last ten years and here's what we talked about earlier Kealing 29 to 32 guys signed college scholarships back in 2009 and they got four guys currently in the NFL one of which he played with Craig Lumpkin he was a good one yeah he's really good he was somebody in practice at this dump with take him up high man Craig was a very very nice running back man did a great job with Georgia Bulldogs going on to the next level yes he has one kid on the way he already has one now man so kudos the Kratt lumpy a really good friend of mine remember when Craig Lumpkin was the running back Reggie Baul was the quarterback and coach Gartrell son TJ was the wide receiver that was a very very special Stevenson team back in the day and now you know the boys come home to roost as Reggie balls the offensive coordinator now and they've scored more points in a four game period than they ever have with Reggie Fazio see well that's four good man speaks a lot about what he brings to the table when you have a guy who who had quite a bit of success at Georgia Tech being a quarterback at Calvin Calvin Johnson as a receiver that says a lot you know I'm sure he's happy to turn on a TV to watch Calvin on Sundays and he was his quarterback I'm sure Calvin thanks him a lot with a lot of his success and now he's bringing that back to the community where he played football and now he's coaching the OC he brings I got we got a few picks off after him a few times but never never never loves to enjoy the Tech players soccer honestly say that and that's a good feeling man I worked hard for that well I think Reggie Baul is an up-and-comer here not just in DeKalb County but in the state of Georgia I think his day will come and he will very soon be a head coach at the high school level and he certainly deserves and I know it's great for these young Stephenson players to have a guy with the name recognition of Reggie Baul a younger guy that can relate to the younger generation but also a darn good football coach Stevens's a lot like my high school growing up and back in Daytona Beach Florida everybody want to go to mainland high school all the scouts went to that high school first you had eight high schools in the city of Volusia County and Daytona Beach but they went them but they went the mainland first a lot of scouts come to Stevenson to see the talent see what see how electrifying they are and they had a lot of things too Reggie Baul we played the college level who could talk to those coaches and get these kids to the next level whether this D 1 Double A or D 1 on first down in five they try the outside and their go-to receiver Dexter Neal please closed in on in a hurry another huge hit by a pair of Stephenson Jaguars I want to tell you one thing manslaughter hit and going on down here from both teams and there is that deep fish to tackle Baxter Butler a senior defensive tackle you got to be able to run to the ball we talked about pursuit taking good angles that's a good job by mr. Baxter so they had a wonderful down in distance it first down in five but a two-yard loss will make it second down and seven the Panthers having an awfully tough time moving the ball against the Jaguars and for the third time tonight he'll go empty backfield and Malcolm Anderson will be in the shotgun another low snap there's another penalty and the early signal as that is against Southwest a cab so the Panthers will have to back up and [Music] Southwest ecaps had a really tough time moving the ball this season averaging just 14 points a game their offensive coordinator has Crohn's disease and he gave it very inspirational speech to the team this week but he'll soon have to leave the team it's a testament that he's even on the sidelines here tonight but he'll soon have to leave the team and have surgery so they're dealing with some off-the-field stuff and I know Coach tanks is hoping that they'll rally around their OC and put a good showing on the field so far tonight but they're having a tough time moving the ball right now as they sprint out Anderson throws it up again this time intended for Jacoby Riley and it's picked off at the 30 yard line yeah that's test administered to mr. dependable Cameron Glynn it's another guy who's going to Wake Forest who's the senior Demario meant to talked about him talk about his secondary and they're one of those guys getting a pick tonight this guy is is a big-time safety going to wait boards in the ACC as you see the quarterback rolls out and he's just reading the quarterback eyes and the quarterback takes another hit by throwing it up capitalized a good job mr. Glen Malcolm Anderson's gonna be looking for the ice bath after this game and we still have 3 plus quarters to play and once again phenomenal field position to start for Stephenson they already lead 14 to nothing and there's another look at the Cameron Glen pick and as Kela mentioned he's heading to play football at the University of Wake Forest and here's rivers again makes a nice cut inside but so far tonight Kela and mr. rivers has gotten a lot of yards after contacts you know that's one thing you have to do on the defense side of the ball you you have to be able to wrap up and if you can't wrap up you're gonna make the run of that look like a superstar and I'm gonna tell you right now mr. mystic mr. Dallas there he's doing a great job by making sure if the defenders are missing at the point of contact shedding the blood shedding those tackles and making this is the guys missed its appellate case for 67 yards and a TD and County yep Dallas rivers heading to play football at Vanderbilt and an interesting story about him he played for Tucker for the last two years was actually a starting will linebacker as a sophomore for the 2011 Tucker state championship team and now him and his younger brother Chauncey who you'll see at defensive end tonight both moved and enrolled in Stephenson this year yeah that's that's quite unusual you know I guess because the coaching change a lot of a lot of things transpire down there ona on the defense out of ball for Tucker this year and hey coast guard James I hey I take you well I talked to coach Gartrell as the bus unloaded here backed by the locker room and he said he wasn't sure the circumstances surrounding those two guys and their family decision to come to Stephenson B said I certainly wasn't going to turn him away I know that it might be to the best players he has and that's saying something on a Stephenson team chalk with Division one talent to get those two guys as a gift from the Tucker Tigers did you see Coast Guard tail being being here for 18 years that says a lot about his best men in the types of players he bringing into a program weekly throws a jump ball into the end zone intended for number 19 telomere Tyler Taylor and darn near got picked off by Southwest DeKalb already two turnovers here in this game one for Stephenson one for Southwest yeah here's a nice replay jump ball good job by this about the secondary is making sure that mr. Taylor there doesn't get that ball I was really asking Patterson very talented cornerback he's been all over the field so far tonight and has also carried the ball on offense not a big guy killing six-foot 180 pounds he does a great job there he does in the first time tonight somebody's fans not playing yeah and we take a timeout does Stephenson they want to talk it over because it's fourth down in a long one and the ball will be spotted just outside the 22 yard line wisdom 2zd their kicker has the range to make a field goal from here so we'll see what they do after the timeout it's another great season of Georgia traveler this fall on GPB watch David Zell ski and the crew as they uncover more of the hidden Georgia that may be across the state or around the corner that's Georgia traveler this Sunday at 7 o'clock only on GPB field if you're a coach right here you're up by 14 points but you're just about in the red zone fourth down and two you kick the ball and try to extend the lead or you try to play big boy football and pick up two yards well you know you look at the look after down a distance all right it's 4th in the one all right you're not quite in their territory just yet but you know you can either kick the field goal give them the ball on their 22 yard line and Counting or you can try to go for it if you get the first down so be it you don't it's like a point well here they go again this will be the second time tonight that they've gone for it inside southwest dekap territory on fourth down and why not with number 25 dot in the eye 4th down in one and there is mr. rivers number 25 and he has no problem picking up the first down he only needed to get to the 21 yard line and he is into the red zone first down in tin jacks that's very nice run by mr. rivers going up there getting it get down tough his yardage you know you got to get kudos to this offensive line they've been doing a great job tonight mr. middle up got Javon Barnes up the middle makes 2 all - cause he's 300 plus pound lineman he's the best office lamb and they have and he's the commander-in-chief up there in the trenches for Stephenson and Giovanni weekly will now move back into the shotgun formation rivers remains the running back stands just behind into the left of weekly it goes to the air and throws a bullet to the outside and for the first time tonight Isiah Zuber the junior wide receiver touches the football and a nice pass from Giovanni weakly very nice pass is something safe that's a five-yard stop but I'm gonna make sure there's a very good tackle by Patterson by the cornerback coming up making the tackle on a nice athletic receiver with no yak no yards after the catch you want to make a bang-bang play one thing about being the defensive back he it's one of the hardest positions on the field a lot of people don't know it you backing up when the receivers running at you full speed you have to flip your hips you have to break on the ball and make the tackle it's very hard to do Patterson did a wonderful job there shotgun again for weakly this time he gives it again two rivers as he makes it a lot of nice moves in the hole and scores his second touchdown of the night and number 12 on the season and the Vandy commit is putting on a show here in the first quarter he sure is as they grow up 22 22 0 you can look at the waning pass I was just talking about this offensive line Sanders up front Brown up front clearing the lane Jones and Harris these guys doing a great job you should take them out for burgers tonight after this game train but you see that letter citizen bye-bye rivers keeping his hand down keeping his feet making sure he gets the touchdown great job and so with just 28 seconds to go in the first quarter Stephenson going through the Southwest DeKalb defense like a one knife through butter and there's another extra point third of the night for wisdom ZD and it's 21 to nothing Stevenson let's go downstairs to John Nelson Nellie time to go through some of the scores from around the state of Georgia got some big matchups tonight especially in region one 6a with her starting region play at the break Camden County leading Valdosta in Kingsland 7 to 2 and also on the board conk with beating Lowndes in the concrete palace 14 nothing that's also second quarter at the break mill creek leading Norcross 1310 Cal beating North Springs 14-nothing Gainesville putting the pedal down on heritage 34 nothing at the half Sandy Creek late second meeting fayette county 3312 Buford 40 to nothing on banks County 2nd quarter Walton leading Cherokees 17 nothing at the half also interesting score here Dacula and Archer tied at 14 at the half if Archer wins they go to 5 and they've got the inside track on the region that includes our cute and Brooke wood for a combined ohh and 7 and at the half Brooke was leading 7 nothing both teams 150 yards so far in the match Griffin 22 Stockbridge 14 at the break Johnson County and Savannah Christian tied at 7 and good news Cross Keys gets their first win since 2011 beating North Cobb Christian 47:29 back upstairs thanks John we'll check in with you very often tonight on scores as everybody is into their region schedule now and that's when things really start to get interesting as we move our way toward the playoffs and eventually the state championships which you'll see right here on GPB it's a low line drive kick off taken at the 10 yard line and he has stacked up to the 25 yard line the balls on the ground Stephenson picks it up no whistle and this may be a turnover and maybe first down and goal Stephenson let's wait yeah the refs huddled up over there both teams hurry to the sidelines we haven't gotten the call just yet but it looks like Stevenson's defense has taken the field so I believe it will be Southwest DeKalb all as they will rule them down by contact let's take a look at this last touchdown by Dallas Rivers on your tcsg replay this rivers just sitting there and the shotgun is giving him the ball giving him the option to pick what hole he's in that is called zone blocking Sun blocking gives you running back a lot of options he can zip it outside he can go up the middle between the tackles or he can go mid line right off that Center man that's a very nice play by Stephenson here's your tcsg scoring drive six plays 31 yards two minutes 55 seconds and another penalty flag down before Southwest DeKalb can snap the ball a lot of miscues on the offensive side for the Panthers as this one will to go against them take a look at this kick off again kealan as they rolled the runner down by contact let's take a look it's really a ski Patterson yeah and that actually they gave him forward progress right and lucky for him they did that they can ill afford to give students in the buy back with good grip position they go to the air successfully for the first time tonight but it looks like there might be a late flag in the offensive backfield you see just Coby Riley he's the kicker and he plays receiver we've got a lot of guys on the field tonight Kiel and that are doing everything really a ski Patterson is one of them number five for Southwest a cab he's done a wonderful job playing defensive back he's touched the ball on the offensive side of the ball as a running back and we just saw him returning a kick right there and this one much to the delight of coach tanks is against the Stephenson Jaguars as Southwest DeKalb finally gets a break yeah these guys have been struggling on offense all night I think this is the first time they made it past the 30-yard line on offense the OC definitely has to give them this is something that's safe the out pass a nice little screen this throw there Stephenson thickness off this is a very aggressive defense you have to attack them in many different ways you can't do the same thing over and over again this Stephenson dick team is well coached they're disciplined you have to get them off balance you have to get them with some misdirection on offense hopefully they can do that when it's dry so they opted to let the final nine seconds of the first quarter roll off and so one corner in the books from Clarkston it's all Stephenson 21 to nothing over southwestern cab in this heat at the cab county-rival Rigby right back on GPB as the cab 21 to nothing it's time for some sports trivia Panthers fans How well do you know your team if you know them you know they produce some top-notch talent we have a trivia question for you tonight we want to know who was the quarterback for Southwest it has 95 state championship team we want you to take to Twitter Facebook whatever it is let us know what the employers find us we're GPB sports let us know the answer we'll get back to in the 4th quarter with our trivia winner who will win at GPB football Fridays in Georgia t-shirt what up with the best way to end your football season send it back over to guys in the booth thank you very much grace he'll and I know the answer to that question he said when a t-shirt meet - ready and here's a pass completion on the near sideline just shy of midfield to Jacoby Reilly yes I've had a lot of success healing in the passing game but a nice pass here and comfortable for the first time in the pocket as Anderson he actually had some time to throw to football as you can see some nice blocking right there by the running back chicken off the edge and mr. Riley getting down there below catching the ball he's a stud he does a great job with the ball in his hand the 14 catches on the year number 15 on that play yeah and a big first down for Southwest at AB and they'll spread them out once again this time they'll have three receivers bunched up to the short side of the field and Malcolm Anderson will be in the shotgun he'll give it directly up the middle to Quentin the senior and he continues to fight just to get back to the line of scrimmage now mr.
Prince does a great job by just breaking those taxes there that's something you have to do man you have to be able to fight aggressively keep those legs moving he's kind of short they're missed tackles to hurt you in the game like this and you can see how the rest of this fiscal deep miss Stevenson that has talked about a free safety Cameron's win Whitney bridges coach tanks told us as his Jacquizz Rodgers said that they'll put him in every now and then just as a changeup to Mario Alston they like his versatility 2nd down and 10 to the outside complete forward progress up to the 48 yard line and for the first time tonight Kiel and Southwest DeKalb is inside Stephenson territory but it'll be third down and six they're starting to find those soft spots in the defense that's what you have to do nice safe routes safe passes these defenders are really good on their heads for for Stephenson they're coming up no yaks no yard got to catch so you have to make sure you give them give them and you have to take what they're going to give you and that's what Southwest the Cavs are starting to realize Sam White's first catch of the night comes into the season nine catches 68 yards has not scored a touchdown yet they're going to eat another one of those here on third down and six if they're to keep this drive allowed see look for them to do a backside slant will work the backside with mr. Riley is there a number one guy on the offense see what they can do you solve a hard count there who suckled Malcolm Anderson's entire body flinch and he actually drew one of his own offensive linemen offside so the false start will push them back inside their own territory so they've yet to actually run a play from scrimmage inside Stephenson territory tonight they come back out with that same set because I was saying see mr. Riley right here everybody wants it actually they go scream class to rally ask me Patterson he's drilled at the 45 yard line by number 50 and that's your guy Caitlin Baxter Butler yeah man this guy's been around the ball all night doing a great job what they ever tell you this you can really find out if the shake you see him running to the football making those plays and put tackles in them in the backfield and he's still in the game you know peepers allowed legs up in head coach get me out somebody invested been in the game from the jump backs to the club a man up front actually Butler one of the few returning starters for Stevenson and so far he's been the most impactful player on the defensive side of the ball for the Jaguars and here comes Jacoby Riley in to punt once again this time it doesn't have to stand in a zoning zone to do it but it's almost blocked they'll go out of bounds somewhere between the 30 and 35 yard line let's take a look at the region standings this is one of the toughest regions of the state Kylan because the name right underneath Stevenson there is tucker tucker's number one in the state of Georgia in the 5a classification Stevenson's number two they square off in two weeks Mays and ml King also great teams Miller Grove is a great team Southwest DeKalb is normally in the mix they're having a down year this year and much to the chagrin of John Nelson lakeside the cab not really having a really good year this year yeah you can see right up you can see right there under Stevenson Tucker coach Lamar is doing a great job another guy who's up and coming in the high school football sports in 6a three-and-oh regional for no overall what you got boys done yeah you talked about region and tonight yes lakeside is down 14 nothing to tuck her in the first thank you for reminding me that but also there's a big upset brewing Panthers built at the break Arabia Mountain leading MLK six to nothing so you've got that one to go with everything else going on tonight you've got Johnson County leading Savannah Christian you've also got once again to keulen Archer tied at the half and you talk and you talk about Brook wooden part you who would have thought they would have been Owen seven combined right now struggling as they are so once again it's the first real big night of region play and a lot of action going on around the state obviously our focus is going to be here in 5a and then 6a down in South Georgia with region one with those heavyweights battling it out so we're going to be here all night it's going to be like election coverage starting this week here on GPB so we'll keep you posted on everything and how everything's playing out as we get toward the third season another good work my friend couple nice runs there by Isaiah Zuber and Dexter Neal sets up second down in one inside Panther territory for the Jaguars and here's uber again and he's tackled almost for a loss he finds a way to keep his feet and pays for it at the 42 yard line and a late flag comes in after the tackle probably the best play on the defensive side of the ball so far tonight for Southwest DeKalb there you go Brandon Wiggs once again make him have it in the backfield that's one guy that you got he has a great motor Sam coming on up there a nice gain tackler number 25 timmreck Cook's helmet came off and at that point when the young man's helmet comes off the play is ruled immediately dead and he might have got a penalty thrown on him for continuing to pursue the tackle after the helmet come on came off as everybody knows every football fan in the country right now knows that they're putting a strong emphasis on protecting these young men safety specifically when it comes to head trauma that makes him and I appreciate timmreck Cook's perseverance but he's got to stop there rules and rules but every year that changing something every year something gets really really put back in and I think I think this concussion thing is a big issue is a big issue in Georgia sports in the across the country it's it's very hard all right you teach a kid all his life to go into the woods to blown dead and now you put in rules like this and it's hurting the team and it's very hard when you get momentum is going you want to get out there you want to make tackles for your team but I don't be honest man me my helmet came up a couple of times doesn't mean I can't get it get my stats up get in on the tackle that's all well and good until you're in a hospital bed you don't know what day of the week it is hey man you sign you when you sign your name up on the dotted line to put it put the hurt on you know what you get yourself into man so after the penalty first down 210 weakly drops back to throw deep ball down the sideline just out of in and out of the hands of Tyler Taylor nice he's been on that side but I get getting beat deep if you look on the side there it's a back shoulder camera guys doing a great job by getting that getting that shot shoutouts to the camera crew for that nice shot in so it looks like Stevenson's tried to test the deep waters a couple of times tonight and they'll go empty backfield on second down and 10 from the 42 we'll see them do this from time to time they do have an accomplished passing game despite being enough primarily a running team there's Dexter Neal and he slips down at the 47 yard line that'll be a loss of three and it'll bring up third down and very long and keel and you almost have to pass here yeah you definitely have to pass here you got to get you guy out there those chains great great job how to safety coming up make him a tackle in the backfield so seven minutes to go before half-time Stevenson's up 21 to nothing we appreciate you joining us on Georgia Public Broadcasting Trey McDaniel Katelyn Johnson and John Nelson with you as we take in one of the biggest rivalries in the state of Georgia and certainly the biggest in DeKalb County with Southwest DeKalb and Steffensen it's been all Stephenson so far third down and long and here's weekly he's only got a touchdown with his legs now he's slides down just shy I believe healing of a first down that's gonna be very very close he had to get to the 32 yard line and of course as soon as he goes for the feet first slide Kealing he gives up his body as soon as he touches the ground they mark it down so he'll be three yards shy of the first down it'll bring up fourth down I think that's a good play Manny I think rg3 need to take some milk soon weekly right here by learning how to slide we believes a big boy in a little bit more field aware and it's mitem picked up the first down for his team that's still a long game but it's fourth down and they'll go for it on fourth down this will be the third time they've done so tonight Wow Reggie Todd must be feeling good about his office tonight going for it on down there zeeburg down the sideline easily picks up the first down and it's knocked out of bounds by marquel McCray number 7 the senior deep into back for Southwest DeKalb and just a very nice pass out the back field makes it sugar getting the ball out so your running back making sure he gets to the yardage nice one on one tackle they're doing a great job and Reggie Baul just doing a great job calling this game you know he's feeling too confident your team's up 21 nothing five minutes and Counting left left to go in the half you can tell he's very very plugged in to the offensive play calling they talked about Reggie ball watching a lot of film with these guys lot of walkthroughs with these guys that stuff you're doing a college level and making sure that these guys truly understand where they posed to be on the football field the formations that they're gonna go against on the defense side of the ball and it helps you identify when you get on the football fields like second nature you went over it before it's not like it's new to you you can go back to tell coach head coach it's the same thing that they're doing head coaches we didn't go over this so this is how we can communicate to adjust it what you got for us and he does a great job not that that speaks a lot to Reggie Baul experiencing in the next level that's a great point second down buddy yarding to have to go weekly play action to rivers go roll out to the right side with a guy in his face and looked at the end zone into double coverage and the bus falls incomplete but we have a flag here on the near sideline around the 10 good job I saw what the cab like by making sure that these guys are not opening in the roll out the roll outs creates layer she's gonna have somebody in a flat she's gonna have somebody run and you're gonna have the number one receiver running everybody off it did a great job by making sure this defense days into letting you see a Reggie Baul coaching up one of his players sets the quarterback weekly and here's the penalty call and that's a personal foul on Southwest DeKalb and that will result in a first down for Stephenson and southwest of cat food ill afford to commit a penalty like that they did a great job stopping the would-be touchdown pass and now they find themselves once again behind the eight ball it'll be first down in ten Stephenson first and goal actually for Stephenson at the 8 yard line it looks like it might be an infraction roughing the passer here a little bit of a late hit on weekly absolutely there tre somebody with that this glue I think Stephenson teaching the boys how to act over there tre here's rivers been their go-to guy tonight hasn't touched it in a while and he bangs forward to the 4 yard line it'll set up second down and goal and so far tonight inside the 10 yard line has been Dallas Rivers territory he's already got a pair of touchdowns yeah I called him the worst voice work force in the beginning of the show it's not broke don't fix it and that's one thing Stephenson a day they're good at they're good at sticking to what's really good what's really going for them a lot of offensive coordinators go away from that hit hit Mike Bobo UGA big game tomorrow they got to get it done man they got to get it done against LSU so single back-formation it is ballast rivers to tide information as well here is rivers nice blocking up front tries to move his legs into the endzone and I believe he's tackled just shy if he is it will be third and goal they're gonna mark him down at the one-yard line nice and initial blocking but a good job by Brandon Wiggs the middle linebacker coming up to plug the gap yeah this guy's been all over the field you know it whatever it takes shoestring tackling hitting hitting up top this defense they've been doing a good job tonight on this oness in the red zone you know Stephenson had a hard time getting that ball in after two or three tries but southwest the Cavs seems like they're trying to buckle up a little bit they bring you Vontae Patterson and the fullback when they go back to the traditional live formation just a single receiver split out wide to the right it's Dexter Neal a lot of options for Reggie balls offense right here on third and goal but he goes traditional and it's Dallas rivers untouched into the end zone for the third time tonight and Stephenson extends their lead and rivers comes into the game with 10 touchdowns that he now has 13 on the season and we still have two plus quarters to play this is simple lead up middle with the full-back Patterson leading leading the way and look at that hole right there my grandma gonna ride her wheelchair through that thing man anybody can get through that hole that's that's just not talk about this offensive line these guys do a great job one of them's going to Mississippi State Tyler Jones a very good player Harry Brown he has very very good hands moves his feet in the 300-plus off best play on the office keep it locked right here in Georgia Public Broadcasting Southwest DeKalb zero Stevenson 28 Georgia Piedmont Technical College is in achieving the dream institution if you're looking to gain skills needed to find a rewarding job in a fulfilling career your pathway begins by checking us out at www.kppc.org/keeps on tech offers more than 130 programs of study from accounting and cosmetology to firefighting and law enforcement and our newest addition design media production technology new skills are within reach G PTC helps empower you to achieve your dreams let's talk about the teams trying to get to the next level [Applause] [Applause] you see some young fans take it in the game tonight from historic Hallford Stadium they are watching the Stephenson Jaguars put it to the Southwest DeKalb Panthers 28 to nothing huge night for Dallas Rivers as he scores three touchdowns here since first on the night the young man came into the game with 10 touchdowns on the season and he'll at least leave Hallford Stadium with 13 there's a good look at a second long the longest of the night for him as he came into the game with 295 yards rushing he's fast approaching the century mark in this game and we're not even at halftime yet you know trav really like his style he's a north/south runner north/south runners really don't get too much love unless you go to the schools like Alabama's you know or the West Constance one in Nebraska's of the world this kid right here has a lot of talent and he has a lot of athletes around him I think that's what really makes Stephenson running grain so well because they have weapons on outside that tiny in position at the receiver position but this guy gets all the spotlight because that's the Lisa's position to get all to notice because all the athletes that Stephenson half there's your tcsg scoring drive nine plays 70 yards for 59 there's second scoring drive of the night that's four minutes are longer and there you see 14 carries 95 94 yards and three touchdowns for Dallas rivers and Keeley reminds me a lot of a running back that came through Stephenson a couple of years ago that's now playing for the old ball coach at South Carolina in Mike Davis yes sir yes sir this good spot on right there trained spot-on without I pull one out every now and then I don't blame you know football man what do they say blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then right about that man so 322 to go before half four touchdowns for the Jags none for the Panthers the Panthers have moved it into Stephenson territory once tonight but really they don't really have an answer for the swarming all Jaguar defense their gang tackling tonight they play sideline to sideline it shouldn't surprise anybody that's watch Stephenson football this is just what they do this is what they do man Smash Mouth football and like we talked about the run pass balance they'll have been a little bit more run tonight than past because of the weakness on Southwest cap first half defense playing I can say you have to stick with us was working and that's what they do this play-action looking sideline well over the head of Sam white and it looks like so far here in the first half keel and that they're trying to get Malcolm Anderson out in space because the pass protection just isn't there when he tries to drop back in the pocket well this on display right here tre heat Malcolm had two guys open you had had four four batted in the flats and you also had your tied in right there on the corner route he just have to learn to set his feet or get rid of about the ball a little bit sooner he has guys open but it plays and see this in hand when you don't distribute the ball on time after the incompletions second down and 10 from the 20 yard line back to the I formation and back under center is Anderson and it'll be a false start number 57 Zechariah Bradford jumped offsides and that'll push Southwest a cab back and he'll and I think you say this every week and call it shooting yourself in the foot and it looks like Southwest DeKalb is doing a little bit of that here in the first half obviously somebody didn't tell mr. Bradford snap count yeah man this is one of those things walk these are coaching points and when you're going in halftime if I'm Southwest the caps coach I'm telling my team first of all guys we can play with these guys one thing we need to do is stop shooting ourselves in the foot okay second thing I'm gonna level no you're not playing like you're having to fire you you know this is big stage you got a lot of atmosphere out here your mom your dad's understand how do you want to be remembered when this game is over you know what are you gonna tell your kids about this rivalry game you know you gotta you got to paint the picture for these kids you got to make sure you get them in a game you keep them in a game and then I'm going to my quarterback going to my starting quarterback I'm gonna let him know hey the ball is the game is in your hands if you protect the ball for us you move the chains we protect the ball and make sure things go the right way we have a chance to win this game so back-to-back penalties here for southwestern cab as they just have a delay of game called against them so after that what was once first down in 10 from the 20 is now second down and 20 from the 10 shotgun formation for Malcolm Anderson motion man is Patterson standing in the pocket and delivering a nice ball to Jacoby Riley at the 21 yard line is Malcolm Anderson probably his best pass of the night and probably the most comfortable he's looked in the pocket to Kela that's a very nice route by Riley very precise in a dig dig route across the middle Anderson doing a great job you looking at south southwest of cap total yards 18 yards and Stevenson with a hundred and sixty-four yards tonight in the first half 94 of those yards compliments of Dallas Rivers the running back for Stevenson who's got into the end zone three times tonight clock continuing to run two and a half minute mark to go in the second quarter back to the shotgun for Malcom Malcom Anderson nice job reeling in the snap and now he'll try to scramble and he goes down wisely at the 25-yard line avoiding the big hit but once again for Southwest DeKalb ends another fourth down great job by this Stephenson defense by getting off the field on third down hey you can see miss Andersen is sitting there in the pocket trying to find something it's what you call here nice coverage by the secondary nobody coming across the middle linebacker staying home making sure that protect you the third down market so here comes wide receiver and hunter Jacoby Riley into punt the ball away so far three of his punts tonight have come deep in his own territory this one will be no different as he stands at his own 14 yard line Stevenson's returned a couple so far this year they're dangerous in the special teams game this would be jarred Tucker which has defined the sideline he's got a convoy over there and the man who initially missed the tackle recovers and comes all the way up to the 44 to redeem himself it'll be first down in ten from the 44 for Stephenson a minute 23 to go in the football game Stephenson does have two timeouts if they do try to extend their lead right now they're up 28 nothing well I'm telling you right now it's a minute 22 seconds left and I can't wait to hear the band's a half towns will tell you that right now Trey both of these bands are looking good they got the xylophones right there all shined up as you see the ladies coming on in the flag girls telling you right now everybody's waiting for the band back to Daytona Beach man it's a home with vocal cover colleges most people go to the football game just to see the band no line not the football team but the band there goes mr. rivers best carry we'll put him up over a hundred yards and a whole lot more and he's brought down it's a 17 yard line a touchdown saving tackle there and Dallas Rivers is putting on a show yeah he has great vision see how he stays north-south he's not looking to see the he's not looking to go to the sideline he's not looking to took anybody he's trying to run over I want a view gonna tackle me I'm going to make you pay for and that's what mr. rivet isn't sending the message tonight and let's throw some praise the way of number five the senior quarterback for Southwest DeKalb really asking Patterson he has been everywhere he's been a star on the field tonight he saved another touchdown right there here's weekly flushed out of the pocket throws across his body incomplete at the 5-yard line and the late flag goes down I think he got a little hold in there a cornerback down a little well grab these stinky fingers trying to hold onto the receiver jersey they're big that's exactly what the film is going to be and it is pass interference to Jackson right feeling and it's on Southwest Academy get a good look of it right here like a talk about the quarterback position is very hard position you know but no one-on-one do not hold to receiver do not applaud to Jersey that's number one ruling if you're playing a defensive back that penalty will be on senior number 7 mark L McCray first down in two from the nine I formation for Stevenson and another pre-snap flat we've seen a slew of them in this football game that'll be false start on the Jaguars I'm having a great time just really watching mr. ball the offensive coordinator Reggie Baul go there different types of formations that they use on I just pull out one make sure there's 21 personnel basically two bats one tidy and two receivers you've got so many different looks as you can see they're going flip-flop where you bring the Z receiver to to the wide side of the field and you leave the Titan by himself here's weekly with time going in zone looking zipper over his head and complete nice coverage on the play as well for Southwest DeKalb you know if I just let the ball get away from a little bit there put a little bit - mustard on the on the ball there as you can tell that's the easy touch down at the ball was his throw imperfect Rock y'all seen on the coverage for Southwest at AB and weekly goes all the way over to the sideline to get the play directly from Reggie Baul Gretchen ball was the senior my junior year in college and he's not that far removed from the NFL time I remember him going over to get to the Canadian League playing football - as well so forth but he's been around football his whole life and also a lot of people don't notice his father is a strength coach if you see a short guy on the sideline running up and down the sideline and screaming at the guys get back get back he's controlling that sideline and he is huge I met him for the he shook my hand I thought I was shaking up a world class lift a hand big guy you see him there he is right there with the whistle see get back get back great shot by a camera guys get back and with it a guy that your strength and conditioning coach when he tells you to get back here a little less apt to argue with him when he looks like that yeah man I'm saying those guys a disciplined man they respect him you know I had a couple of players in pregame warmup had towels on they had white towels on he said get those white towels off if you're not wearing black you can't wear anything at all good job coach check us out next Friday with football Fridays all-access pass show live at 7 o'clock followed by the game of the week we're at Walton High School where the Walton Raiders welcomed in the last urchins for a spectacular game that's Friday nights in Georgia and they were never more fun GPB sports football Fridays all-access pass show followed by Laster brazenness our game of the week October 4th at 7 o'clock right here on GPB [Music] so let's see if we can actually get a snap off here Stevenson elected to take a timeout second down and long there's rivers tough sledding at the 15-yard line you'll be lucky if he got back to the line of scrimmage tackle made by outside linebacker Tamara cook and there's a very nice game tackle by this defense they're right back at it as the clock runs down wide open in the end zone for the touchdown it looks like Titans it is number three re worse six-foot-four 220-pound tight end rd with a touchdown on the season that's his second one hard for a quarterback to stay away from a 6-foot for tied into the corner of the end zone I don't know if you're gonna be able to see this replay we're gonna look at the disaster point but this guy here is a specimen to have when you hit you and a pro I offense and you think you're very run heavy and the running attack compliments the passing attacking when you have a 6-foot floor tidying as 222 pounds you have to be able to throw the ball up and get him a kidney on the ball because he can bring a lot to the table with but with blocking and passing so a weeklies first touchdown pass of the game and here's our tcsg touchdown replay it's a beautiful pass and a beautiful hookup from weekly to re works and what they do is think they leave him by himself on on the back side you can see it's no receivers over there they did a flip-flop brought those e receiver over to the middle put him in a slot position and they ran a quarterback a corner out with mr. Watson with the works there this is a matchup miss match up with the cornerback he's probably 5 foot 11 and you have a tight end there's four there's your tcsg drive four plays 44 yards 57 seconds tied and Aria works heading to play college football at Georgia State one of many Stephenson Jaguars who have already committed and they're get picking up a really good player and they've got a really nice backup tied in in Montes sweat we'll probably see him tonight he's six foot six 225 I'm gonna tell you this right now George take me get this kid swept right up front of him you know if he keeps playing this way tre you know a lot of causes come see these guys come see his teammates I'm sure he probably committed early not knowing that other schools gonna come in and see him but this guy's a good flare you never know what he can do you may jump ship that's a diplomatic way to put it you made JumpShip 26 seconds to go before half-time it's been all Jags 35 to nothing and they're going to get ahead of ourselves but if it continues this way Georgia Mercy rules if the fourth quarter starts and the deficit is 35 points or more we'll have a running clock in the fourth quarter we got a long way to go before we get there but nice kick coverage by Stevenson ball carrier down at the 15 yard line with 19 seconds left we'll see what Southwest DeKalb elects to do they have not really been able to move the ball so far tonight yeah they've been having a hard time by just getting in rhythm one thing about our office you have to get in rhythm once you get in really you got to stay on pace and they haven't got in rhythm so they can't stay on face it just having a hard time finding identity of the offense finding out what works for them you saw we saw last week Marietta had a hard time doing that as well that's a great point you know that's that's important you have big big game will sitting in in a bit nice old cut right there the big stadium a lot of tradition there and you just couldn't make it happen first and ten from the 15 will be shotgun for Malcolm Anderson and they'll go ahead and run the ball there's Mario Alston most daylight he's seen tonight in a nice run to the 21 excuse me the 26 yard line very very close to a first down and I think probably the best run play from scrimmage for Southwest DeKalb so far as Stephenson is running a prevent defense right now as the clock continues to run this will likely be the last play of the half there's Austin again he stood up at the 26 yard line it's no gain and that play will take us to halftime now you'll see the band getting ready man stay in your seats folks look at those bands look at that brass right there baby so 35 to nothing Dallas rivers the talented tailback for Stephenson with three touchdown runs re works with the touchdown reception giovani weekly with the touchdown run and a touchdown pass and downstairs to talk to the coach is John Nelson Nellie what do you got well it certainly find out here with a coach dominating performance there in the first half five scores on the board yep we're playing kind of clicking on all cylinders offensively we've been able to move the football and defenses playing real tough and I special teams have been pretty outstanding too so we just got to keep doing what we doing kids keep playing hard we'll probably play somebody younger guys in second half I was gonna say defensively you've pretty much clamped Southwest a cab down to where they can't get into any kind of rhythm offensively and that's giving you short fields on the backside exactly exactly you know we we pride ourselves on you know get to the quarterback and we've been able to rush the quarterback some and flush them out of the pocket and our secondaries coming well I think we've got one or two picks already so like I said with clicking on also just and hopefully we can keep it up all right good luck in the next 24 minutes all right thank you sent over the best seat in the house with Mark Harmon mark thank you John Nelson all Fridays in Georgia halftime show we you'll hear from both bands and they both put the fan and fantastic well here from the Southwest DeKalb arching band even though I score it doesn't reflect it but we are have a new team we have new talent new coach and a new direction but we're very very proud of them and we're looking forward to them being very very successful in the future and of course our band is the greatest in the southeast and one thing that's good about all the students is that they excel academically as well as athletically and with heritage condors 14 to nothing that game at the second quarter elsewhere we got Sandy Creek 33 to 12 over Fayette County we have got tap Carrollton all over Columbus 44 zip that one at the half Buford over Banks County big it is Walton over Cherokee tend to zip in the second and Lassiter is trailing Woodstock 27 21 in the second for complete Georgia high school football scores download the GPB app going to be another action-packed season here on football Fridays in Georgia for all of us here at GPB here is a schedule brought to you by the Georgia EMC next week it is a Cobb County classic another huge rivalry game as the lassiter Trojans take on the Walton Raiders and Raider Valley just another huge game on GPB football Fridays in Georgia we have you covered all the way for the state championship games in the Georgia Dome in December I welcome in John Nelson hi have you been everywhere tonight Stadium but to pull an all over the state as well and you've got a story about the toughest region not only in Georgia but in the entire country top to bottom seven teams they are tough to deal with and the guys that don't even make the playoffs these days are definitely ones Dineen if you need to pay attention to in the regular season there are three ARS down south it might be reading riting and rithmetic but it's also rush Rance and Randy in region one 6a from Kingsland to Moultrie and all points in between anyone in the 2-2 nine and nine 1/2 area codes will tell you that region one 6a is the toughest round-robin not just in the state of Georgia but in the entire country the teams that don't make the playoffs are just as strong as those that do and could make runs of their own given a 5th or 6th playoff team our region is is as tough as I've ever been involved in I mean I've been in some good regions I mean region six and Birmingham was good too but it's the quality of this region 1 through 7 the seventh place team in this region is a good football team record doesn't show it but it's a good football team and then you throw our schedule in there it just makes it unbelievable and knowing that going in there are no homecoming games in the region anymore there's no such thing as an off week there's a very little thing known as rest and knocking each other around until November is a necessity to even make the postseason at the beginning of the year in this region pretty much every year it's the same the same way everybody's got a shot you know there's there's nobody I don't think that's sitting any better than the next guy everybody's got nice weight rooms everybody's got coaching staffs that know what they're doing everybody's got great athletes everybody's got community support so this thing's totally up in there there will be surprises along the way but will there be enough of them two surprises come game eleven in mark dykes thoughts it may be Camden Conklin towns in Valdosta from 2012 making runs in 2013 I look for an upset or two I know what's gonna happen I just don't know which team but you know I'll go along with most of what the quote experts are saying I think those four teams just have such good programs and the other three are getting closer and closing that gap will they move into the to the top four this year I'm not sure so I would go with the top the same for that way in it in no particular order because I think those four they could beat each other need to give them that all right you've got the sport app right there what is the score it is 20 to 7 call quit beating louns right now at the concrete palace so that's a big Road win if it sticks up that way for the folks in Moultrie alright Jon Nelson thank you very much let's send it over to grace Olson for another edition of rent check grace thanks mark yeah those athletes on the field off and get all the glory there are so many people behind the scenes that helped make that engine run the parents a huge part of that so with me I've got Debbie sills the mother of Theron Chapman the defensive end at Stephenson she's the president of the Jaguars Booster Club but now we're here for rent check we're gonna see how much you've learned the letters GPB to the number eight five nine four four be sure to reply yes and message and data rates may apply it's time now for the second half let's send it back up to the booth Kealing and Trey take it away thank you Mark just a few minutes away from second half kickoff all Stevenson 35 to nothing don't go anywhere football Friday's continues momentarily at the demand for power growth Georgia's nonprofit member owned electric cooperatives are committed to providing safe affordable and reliable electricity to our members we've been dedicated to building strong communities for more than 70 years and are proud to join the Georgia High School Association and Georgia Public Broadcasting in support of our state's student athletes let's talk about the teams trying to get to the next level [Applause] [Applause] next time on Frontline get ready to change the way you see the game the brain is riddled with disease these players come down with dementia and in Alzheimer's and then they're gone frontline investigates what the NFL knew and when they knew it the level of denial was just profound the inside story will convict as the NFL will squash it welcome back Hallford Memorial Stadium getting ready for the second 24 minutes here 35-nothing stephenson up over Southwest DeKalb here with coach tanks from swd and obviously you're getting dominated there stifling you all over the place what you tell them it to have that's it that's what we told them we're getting dominated on offense defense and special teams and we got to play better and then you know obviously you there were some things that were working but it was kind of ended up fits and starts and there would be things that would stop you yeah we had penalties you know jumping off sighs which is you know you just can't have at this point in the season you know our guys know know how to play football them and we're expecting them to pick it up in the second half looking forward to seeing it thanks for your time all right let's send it upstairs for highlights and stuff Trey and Kiel and light this candle thank you very much John let's get right into the heart of what happened the first 24 minutes and that's the highlights and it was the Dallas Rivers Joe on offense whew yes Dallas rivers getting yourself doing the unbelievable job making sure that the defenders do not take him down on the first initial contact he's man mr. dependable the whole night I really like this guy Giovanni weakly getting it done with his legs right here later as we ended the first half he threw a touchdown but in between it was Dallas Rivers once again in a really really nice run longest touchdown run of the night he's up over a hundred yards yeah this young man is it's done everything for him with his feet tonight I really like how he high he runs aggressive she's very hard to talk to him and you know what you know he's scratching their head this year tucker high school cuz they let him go he was the number one guy last year best player on their team and now Stevenson is picking up the leftovers and there's there's Ari works their talents it tied in with the touchdown it's been all Stephenson so far 35 to nothing they've got it done through the running game they've got it done through the air when they've needed to Southwest DeKalb has not had any answer so far John Nelson just talked to coach tanks and he said pure and simple we've got to play better he told us and we talked to him on the phone this week that his team really has an adapted well to being on the good stage big stage because right now his best players are juniors he's really looking for in this rivalry game the second 24 minutes to have a resurgence of those junior players as they really come into their own oh he talked he taught the ball so just hate these guys not to play football these guys have been in these type of games before you have to bring you a game you have to regroup you got to recharge cuz I'm telling you the beginning of the fall quarter it's gonna be a running clock they can't put some points on the board that's a great point by Georgia State rules if it's 35 to nothing at the start of the fourth the coaches don't have any say-so in the matter we'll have a running clock it's the Georgia mercy rule of coach of course coach tanks will try to tighten up the score to avoid that we'll get to our first half stats after this kickoff Southwest DeKalb will have an opportunity to do something on offense first as really a ski Patterson cannot return this it's a touch back and let's take a look at the stats very dominating stat line there for the Stephenson Jaguars including time of possession as you talked about early in the game yeah as you look at this time of possession right here Stephenson has taken total control of 13 minutes 57 seconds but most important look at the rushing yards for Southwest at cap- two yards rushing yards from Stephenson 165 yards passing yards 49 by Stephenson their did they're getting it done on the ground as you can tell 13 touchdowns to 3 Southwest DeKalb first downs hmm equal upon turnovers motel yes all south it's all stephenson across the board and in a score reflects it only 23 yards in the first half on offense for Southwest DeKalb they'll try to rectify that right now first down in 10 from the 20 yard line first play from scrimmage here in the second half from historic Hallford Stadium in the heart of Clarkston Georgia they faked the ball to Jacoby Riley and go straight to the air they're looking for Patterson and he cannot reel it in at the 45 yard line defending on the play is number 2 Malcolm Anderson yeah they almost had something good there you know the pass got deflected the receiver there could have got it at that last second now almost been a big completion big flake for Southwest DeKalb on office they're looking for one it just can't buy one right down looked like sophomore Khalil ladler got his big right paw in there too to deflect it and southwestern cab will have to go to the air here if they want to come back and so far Malcolm Anderson has been harassed in the pocket all night long same exact look he gets flushed out of the pocket throws up a wing in a prayer and he's lucky to have that one hit the turf as number four senior cornerback jerod Tucker was in the area a fee to pick that one off he might have been in the end zone one thing about this southwestern cab you know offense they're trying to force a lot of things you know the quarterback realizes not a plate not a lot of those plays out there he's throwing the ball up he's throwing it up and you know what he's causing record for selfies like I said you know you're just something that you cannot do throw the ball away because that could it be easily picked six there another toner turnover footer they could have got hands for the face or facemask right there as well so stephenson side steps that penalty and all the sudden the down in distance not in the favor of Southwest DeKalb it wasn't in their favor for the majority of the first half as well and once again Anderson is uncomfortable pocket Paterson does a good job reeling it in but doesn't even get back to the line of scrimmage it so quickly it's a three and out in another punting situation for the Panthers you look at how aggressive this Stephenson defense is man giving up only six points a game you look at the cub the scoreboard right here 35 to 0 speaks a lot of their statistics they take pride in their defense speed a leader is the speed of the pack and this defense coordinators definitely have some leaders on his team Riley to punt the ball away to Isaiah Zoomer this time and it's a short kick and it takes a Southwest to cap hop and it will be touched down at the 38 yard line let's take a look at Stephenson they've dominated in the regular season Kealing but they've had some heartbreaks in the playoffs last year to where County the eventual state runners-up 14 to nothing 2011 10987 you can count it down they've had a really tough time once they've gotten into the playoffs this is a team that has not even appeared in a state championship so far and they do not have that state championship I talked to coach Gartrell about that before the game I said hey you're gonna win that state championship and finally hang them up and finally retired I think that's what he's waiting for he's got the talent to do it but he hasn't been able to put it together I'm gonna tell you one thing man I came from a program out of Daytona Beach just like this program they will go to the semi-finals go to second round go to third round but they just couldn't get over the hump until 2004 we wanna burst a championship ever it's about leadership that's the only reason they was able to win a championship that year because of the guys that you know what we're not gonna be just like the teens who became before us this coach once said he's been here 18 years the program believes in him he just have to get over the hump and how you get over the hump is not by your coaching it's by your senior leadership and we're gonna see what these boys have intangibles for them this year their best season came in 2005 they lost in the semi finals to lounge but as we talked to Coach Gartrell this week he said this is probably the best team he's had doesn't necessarily have a slew of star players but they all have gelled well and he's got good depth second third guys in line are all very good and he's going to get some of those guys in the game here in the second half as he told John Nelson on the sideline before hit in the locker room we're gonna see some of those younger guys come in the game and two plays ago we saw the junior number 22 tailback piscine Tillman looks like he's gonna tote the rock a little bit tonight and give Dallas Rivers a little bit of a breather River certainly deserves it three touchdowns over/under yards we've seen enough of rivers tonight let's just give those younger guys an opportunity you know and Tre I'm just really getting myself in Jonathan John knows he's helping me out a lot with this at the standard so I'm just really getting my foot engraved into the Georgia high school football level and I'm having a really good time doing it too as well the history that Georgia's football has in this state says a lot everywhere we go it's always a story to tell with any game it doesn't matter if a big times good playing the small town school in the state of Georgia says we might have another convert hi Bert he should have been right with us ever since the absolute beginning because as we all know what's on the golf shirt it's not Florida it's gee there's a jeep Oh John I can't help but love them by the way do you have a Daytona Beach mainland update sir oh yes I will have one in five or ten minutes they do I definitely do okay well have some more up scoring updates in just a sec no problem I can't help my mother my father could see me in the state of the state of Florida man I just can't help that but George teams it's an entirely different animal than the state of Florida young man but we heard coach Propst there and then the piece you guys did on region one the toughest region in the country you know he even said Alabama plates a great brand of football but there's not been deep from top to bottom inside the cab it looks like Southwest if dad's been you think of giving a bit of a gift and they'll have the ball first down in ten from the 11 there you go talk about special teams play tougher by eight sometimes well you got a big lead like this you get complacent you you forget about the blocking you forget about the captain sound and that's what happens you look at this he hit his own teammate in the back of the head when he planted the ball this right here just those type of plays that come back to haunt you later on in the game they went right off the back side of number 27 Jean Charles adieu so you can't credit Southwest a cab with the block but they'll certainly take it 1st down and 10 from the 11 yard line as they threaten to score for the first time in this ballgame to see if they can tackle ass there's Mario Austin and he can't capitalize it all right there he's dropped for a loss coming in to make the tackle for Stephenson is number 10 Chauncey rivers that's Dallas rivers younger brother and he has put together quite a stat line so far this season 37 tackles leads the team ten tackles for loss that's number 11 he's also got eight sacks on the season he's a heck of a football player it's very uncommon to have your defensive end be your leading tackler on the football team but that's what kind of player Chauncey rivers is and ok we can't say enough great things about Johnson rivers you talk about eight sacks TNT afl's technical loss this is somebody who's who's a twin ability drinks tea person played by Stephenson we talked about Chauncey he brings a lot to the defense he brings a lot to the running game as you could tell Southwest the cabin has negative two yards coming in negative two yards open up to second half that speaks a lot of what he brings to the table you had great defensive play made there by cornerback number four Jared Tucker as they were looking once again the direction of Jacoby Riley that's been Malcolm Anderson's intended target most of the night he tried to get it to Gabe Richardson a few times in the first quarter but they hadn't gone back Richardson's way it's been on number 11 in the passing game for Southwest the cab going to the air once again over the middle and swimming for Patterson in the end zone but broken up nice play made there for number four Stevenson number five that's Abdullah my hood yeah another one of those young guys getting in there getting a hand up to break away of that pass there you want to see you talk about young guys you want to see those guys come in and make plays what that does it gives them confidence for you for your younger players coming up starting in this program after the after the seniors leave you definitely have to make sure to talk about the south/southwest account resume and what they have done over the past years two-time state champion feeling 72 and 95 and our trivia question will answer the question of who was their quarterback in 1995 region championships 16 of them the last time in 2009 made the playoffs 35 of the last 40 years so a lot of history 186 41 and 1 since 1983 and this is a big stat right here killing 119 all state players and 10 of them went to play in the league yeah that says a lot bad the all-state players is something that is gives you recognition across the state of Georgia and if you play high school football in the state of Georgia that's that's nationally for this'll be for you you have those guys go off to play in major schools of 10 ten of those guys I'm going to have today NFL so it's gonna be fourth down for Southwest at cab fourth down in 13 from the 15 and right now the Panthers are just desperate to put some points on the board so they're going to attempt a field goal here that'll be a 30 yarder number 39 senior Marvin Ellis is their kicker and coach tank says besides a shuttle or this has been a bright spot on their team mr. Ellis and it looks like someone may have gotten a hand on it will be incomplete so Southwest of cabs attempt to turn the block punted to points is unsuccessful and Stephenson will get the ball back once again first down in ten let's head downstairs to John Nelson John okay time for your election results here in week 5 we're gonna start things off top of the page McEachern no problems with Kennesaw Mountain 41-7 a final Camden County was up 7 to down 10 7 they come back to win at home at Gilman beating Valdosta first round of region one 6a play 1410 Camden County your winner at the break Tucker beating lakeside 49 nothing final Gainesville over heritage Conyers 48 7 also Buford no problems with banks county 63 to nothing other scores st. Pius gives towers their first loss of the year 45 7 Westminster beat Thomson 30 13 tip beating 24 tipped over coffee 20 to 14 and also on the board we were talking about action in everything going on in Gwinnett County Dacula and Archer this game was circled on the board and take a look at this Archer with the win 3114 they've already got the inside track as the number one seed in this region Chad Byrd had two interceptions including a pick six tonight so Archer a fourth-year program now has the lead in their region in one of the toughest counties in the state guys yeah region 8 is having a down year we've mentioned already that Brook would in Park view a huge rivalry in Gwinnett County both teams came in winless tonight the last school we had there was 7 to nothing Brooklyn but Archer - of Grayson's being down South Gwinnett graduated a lot of talent from their playoff team last year right now Archer with the inside track and win in the region my hat's off to coach Andy Dyer I got to give a Brooklyn plug plug it was a great tailback for Brooklyn he's doing a great job leading the archer Tigers right now I'd love to see those guys make the playoffs and see what they could do it'll be nice to have possibly some fresh blood and the playoffs from Gwinnett County - man a lot of physical football play on Friday nights in the state of Georgia telling those are stuff that John's will top all of that and I like it you're believing a team I can feel it I'm standing next to you you're becoming more and more of a Georgia football guy with each passing Friday night I love it I don't have no choice man you're right I'm embracing the job and there's Kasim Tillman carrying it again as it looks like Dallas Rivers at least right now with the score out of hand his night is over so it might be Kasim Tillman at tailback for the remainder of the night for the Jaguars also checking into the game for the Jags is number 28 junior Cortese Logan first down in ten for Lee 32 yard line 35 to nothing Stevenson 7 and 28 to go here in the third quarter it's been all Stephenson from the job here's weekly hoping to the outside and finding Tyler Taylor for the reception yeah you can start to see a lot of those young guys coming out they're making some plays you're talking about Stevens feeder program man you've got a lot of these guys in a pot water level the little school level they run the same as that place that the high school players run so when they get to the high school level their tray there are they two or three steps ahead the coaches don't have to spend so much time installing the offense they could spend a lot of time maturing these guys teaching them about the game of football that's why folks cartels been here for 18 years absolutely and that's really been the secret team to cab County football success and that was the primary reason for Southwest DeKalb success we saw their resume on our graphic a few moments ago the reason why they've made the playoffs 35 at a last 40 seasons has been primarily what but Godfrey did to build the youth leader program for Southwest DeKalb you see a nice run by the young man who just checked in Cortez Logan but there's also a flag down at the 40 once again they another flag they're blocking in the back by the receiver they're not you know young receivers got to get opportunity in his deck sir Neal he knows better commit it to South Carolina's very fast receiver they getting a big-time athlete somebody who's quick can change the game will be a game-changer he just didn't fight for the right position and as you see right here right there that whole look at that blocking me back right there and great work by the camera crew by recognizing that and so second down and long after the penalty a weakly will drop back to pass again pursuit on the backside it's picked off by number 25 for South what's the cab today in the first interception by Tamara cook it'll be pushed down Southwest to death that's a good defensive play bad throw by the quarterback you got to make sure you read he has all the time in the world sometimes it's when you got everything going your way trade sometimes you have to do just one of four things and will you force things bad thing happens and what a defense in the right position they capitalize on those badnesses feeling are you surprised at all to see Stephenson going to the air right now with a thirty five point lead no you have to I think this is probably one of the first times I've been in Stevenson's territory you have to attack you know you wanted you don't want to go home with a goose egg Robin game you got a lot to play for they really have to attack look for them to get the ball in there number one guy Jake for Riley's hands he's out here on on the outside man up and give him a lot of cushion there have to get near the ball quarterback having his lunch ate back at the 40-yard line that's number 10 coming in to make the tackle for Stephenson that's Chauncey rivers mr. rivers that's its ninth sack of the season and Malcolm Anderson did not stand a chance hey one thing it's very hard to to keep a good player off your quarterback but it's another thing to keep a really really good player monster quarterback and Chauncey rivers is one of those players city's foot three 230 pounds as we mentioned earlier he is the leading tackler on this football team from the defensive end position second down and long after the snap looking to the outside to Mario Alston and he's been hemmed in all night he's also tackled for a loss and once again we have another flag down [Music] the tackle made by Malik Rix the will linebacker let's see what the call is was on Southwest a cab and we have said that a lot tonight Kylan penalty on Southwest a cab well I think their coach is gonna run them a lot this this this couple Monday fill these abilities penalties I gotta say coach tanks has been very patient with his team he was very calm cool and collected on the sidelines coming out of the locker room with Nellie he was obviously displeased with his team's effort but he's just gonna keep him out there they're just gonna be patient and let these kids come into their own he's very excited about what he has coming up at the junior level inside five minutes to go in the third quarter and they trail 35 to nothing shotgun formation protection this time as he steps up and takes way too long it's another sack by Chauncey rivers this time he just pushes the quarterback to the ground it's hard to believe this guy's just a junior man out there making plays for this defense he's starting to come along look at the body you know very aggressive on the edge man one thing that makes a good defensive end you have to set the edge you also have to be able to get off blocks and make tackles it was like you know what I don't even want to get down on the ground I'm just gonna push you down right like something ray might see out on the playground at elementary school that was just unfair and didn't stand a chance but caroms out of bounds around the 25-yard line they'll actually mark it at the 22 and a half and we're gonna take a break as well with exactly four minutes to go in the third quarter it's been all Stephenson 35 to nothing don't go away the remaining 16 minutes coming up on GPB football Fridays Georgia Piedmont 35 to nothing stephenson four minutes to go in the third quarter it's been all Jaguars all the time coach tanks has had some big shoes to fill killing we put the graphic up in the beginning of our broadcast for Southwest DeKalb and coach Godfrey and what he did here and let's take a listen at what Coach tank says about replacing the legend some big shoes to feel them some mighty big shoes to feel but I'm excited about the opportunity I love working with kids I love working with these kids like I said they're getting better every week I'm in a good place I just wish that we had some more wins upon our bill and in talking to coach tanks on the phone this week he'll and you could hear in his voice just how much he loves these kids and we talked about coach Godfrey and Coach Gartrell and now coach Gartrell is sort of the granddaddy here in DeKalb County and you know he kind of laughed when I told him that he was the Godfather and but he embraces that role and knows he's been around he's the elder statesman but coach tanks seems to be very humble who knows that he's replacing the legend he's not coming in trying to rock the boat he's trying to embrace the things that Coach buck Godfrey was about and some of the things we talked about earlier in the game it's the let's invest in these young men on and off the football field let's help make sure that they get a good education and when they enter the workforce they're hard workers they become good fathers they become good husbands they become contributing members of society and that's what I love the most about talking to the two guys that are patrolling the sidelines tonight yeah and they think they come come from a rich history and talk about Coast Guard tell you talk about to coach Tate's coach thanks easily coaching him for a while so he he knows what to expect you know these kids respect him if you're gonna come in and coaching the cab County you got to have some type of determination you gotta have some kind of want to because you get a lot of kids that comes from different areas that you know you don't have a lot of opportunities and you gotta get to him you have to be able to relate to them and if you can relate to these kids they're gonna respect you so he's saying that he's in that process right now learning to respect these players and this team will get better you know they have nothing but a huge upside to look up to and a one thing about football it's gonna make you better it's gonna make you come better men like you talk about to make you become character builders and his team to have a lot to look up to it because good like you said the godfather of the tag County he's benefiting the fruits of his labor he been grinding he's been grinding in this County for years and this is look at the score today that speaks to what he's done for this program 26 years folks our tale is spit in the cab County 18 here with Steven City also coached at shamrock which was no longer distance and weekly just throws up a prayer and falls incomplete at the 37 yard line they see a good shot of Coach Gartrell and you're exactly right healing and it hasn't taken you long to notice that the investment that he puts into his kid has paid off and the investment on the football field as well I think he just said the grind and it is a grind being a high school football coach is not a couple month out of the year job it's a year-round thing nowadays every program no matter how successful has a strength and conditioning program they have an offseason workout program the only way to stay competitive is to do that and you're pitting 2025 kids through the college football every year yeah your grind in 12 months out of the year and for him it's been a 26 year long process i'ma tell you this man for so want to just walk on the sideline tonight have a headset in on it on his head he trusts his coaches and he doesn't have to get totally into the into the game em believe - I understand the scores 35-nothing but he understands his coaches they put together a game plan they meet together every weekend a week out and he feel comfortable with his coaching staff this coaching staff has passed the pedigree they have to play it's their job to put him in the right position and that's what he does Stevenson clunking for the first time tonight and Patterson takes it at the 40-yard line bobbles it initially and the man who's been doing everything for Southwest DeKalb tonight takes it up to the 43 yard line this is the DeKalb County football Sinese from the last four years 119 120 132 in 122 last year that is absolutely my box ridiculous man I look like I said man this is the school that they come to this is the county that they come to first and Stevenson high school is the high school that these Scouts come to and they wanna they want him to see hey coach what do you got for me you know is this is this guy available no he's going to Georgia no he's going to suck I'm okay I know you got somebody else one who can I get coaching that's the type of players they have on their team in numbers man that's beast specimen for both of these programs and these specimens to this county man this county do a great job breeding football players it is what it is tre you can come to this county you get you some darn good football players absolutely screen pass here not very effective you might have gained a yard [Music] southwest of cabs offense has been anemic tonight really unable to move the ball you saw halftime stats earlier just 23 yards of total offense in the first half for Southwest the cabinet has not gotten much better they did get a block kick a little bit earlier in the third quarter and missed the 30-yard field goal so the goose eggs still intact and take it from a couple of defensive guys up in the booth Stephenson cares about that goose egg on the board and they are gonna fight for the rest of this football game to try to keep it intact as I talked about earlier this defense only allowing six points a game you know that that's that's a statement in itself he's down at the 20-yard line easily the best play of the night in that play alone equals the total yardage that Southwest DeKalb had in the entire first half of this football game as you look quarterback to sitting in the pocket keeping the live with his feet in his arm finding a really good receiver down the field is tied in Gabriel Richardson nice catch one thing that Coach tank said about Gabe Richardson the six-foot-five 220 pound player was that he reminded him a lot of Shaq Goodwin and for those of you that don't know Shaq Goodwin was a tide in here a couple of years ago for Southwest DeKalb he was a special one in fact he was so special that he decided to play basketball in college and got away from football and he said that Gabe Richardson really reminds him of Shaq and he just showed you rye pass incomplete looking for a touchdown in the back of the end zone intended for Sam white very nice cover cover skills by by the cornerback there Khalil ladder three interceptions on the year going into it it's another one of those boys out there playing hard for his team hey shots out the Demario Minter keeping these guys in position the whole game I don't think I've seen a defensive back of Stephenson getting beat not making a tackle soon as a receiver catches the ball from Southwest to cap Hey well you have athletes you have to coach oh yeah and now that kids a special one right there Khalil ladler just a sophomore he started as a freshman last year in his either got a cup of pitch this year when there's Richardson again on the outside as he tries to pick up first down yardage but he's well short they need to get to the 10 for a first down this will bring up third down and about 7 24 seconds and counting to go before the start of the fourth quarter Stevenson has not scored since halftime they have not had two and as we mentioned earlier in the football game if the deficit in this football game remains 35 points moving into the fourth quarter it will be a running clock I'm gonna tell you this defense had their back against the walls right now you know see if what they made of it see if they can keep this school sags up this is a challenge for him I don't care what the score says on the clock you pay these coaches are are are letting these guys on hey we want to protect Donnell Enzo we wanna protect that end zone and we don't want to hurt our average so it's to the third quarter here in Clarkston Georgia it is 35 to nothing Jaguars over the Southwest and cap Panthers they're putting on a show 12 minutes to go here on football Fridays don't go anywhere [Music] Georgia peanut Commission offering power-packed white Wednesday at 10:00 only on GPB [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 35 to nothing started the fourth quarter here at Hallford stadium and we are joined in the booth coach Gartrell son TJ gartrell TJ we talked a lot about how many of these Stephenson guys go on to play at the next level you're one of those guys you played with offensive coordinator Marcus ball and you went on to play at Georgia with my boy kaitlyn johnson here so your dad's done a heck of a job as 18 years at Stevenson and I'm sure it's been a pleasure for you to watch the ride and be part of it oh it's been awesome it's been all so just to get back out here and and see the guys playing and awesome atmosphere and coach Reggie ball down there calling those plays it looks pretty good yeah I mean he's scored more points the offense for Stephenson scored more points in a four-game stretch than they ever have before and Reggie youth the SVO see can really take credit for that and I've told everybody that I could tell that I think Reggie is going to be a head coach someday really soon and I think he deserves that and I'm looking forward to see really where his coaching career fixin definitely definitely I believe he has the pedigree to be able to do that and like you said Stephenson has scored the most points in these first few games than they ever have it was but talk about the just a mentorship that you death at your dad have had in the cap County you know he said they're 26 years but they have to have two schools 18 years you know talk about his coaches to have and talk about what he means to this to County oh man he means a lot he's players he really takes passion and making sure these players not only take care of what they need to do on the field but off the field when you look at the guys that go to college and you know go on and play college football a lot of those guys get their degree and that's as many focus information on you know coach coach also has a number of teammates out there he has resi you also had you know you have tomorrow mentor up in the booth next to us talk about some of the experiences the coaches that he has around in his program but they're spirits that they have had oh well you look at it you got a quarterback that started at the Division one college you got Demario mentor started at the University of Georgia he had a good career and you played along with Demario right well it's just that experience at the next level that he has down there that you really get those kids fired up because they're hearing it from somebody to actually play that that next level right and that's hard to do now TJ I'll ask you the coaching bug is in your family you ever been lured to patrol the sidelines yourself are you comfortable looking at this from a distance I like this distance I like this this is better I'll tell people it feels like I've been coaching I'm 29 it feels like I've been coaching for 29 years now dad ever come home and continue to coach you long after you graduated to try to coach you up a bit when you play for the dogs not really he kind of stayed back because he hadn't had his own season to make sure he you know take care of his guys but so give me your thoughts about you know we're gonna have hang out in Athens in you know we lost the teammate Paul Oliver who gave gave this state a lot of great football and when it comes to high school level in a Nakata's level you know let's speak about this big budget experience is going to the University of Georgia and building those relationships but with with Paul Oliver and a lot of many other guys like myself and let's talk about the experience here in the state enjoy with the fall Oliver what happened to follow this defeatist attitude everybody that knew him he was a great great guy I was in a clan against Paul here at this Stadium and you know we just had a great time and I worked hard he was a great football player most importantly he's a great guy he was a great guy off the field yeah well and as you can speak on that kid and he's one of the funniest guys to being around and it turns of UGA I can't wait to the bar they're gonna get a chance to get some food make some ribs tomorrow so we got to find out where he's going to be so we can memorize all and the best way we can come together this talk about the memories of what George's brought to the table I'm gonna drop some hot fish immigrants tomorrow so uh if you if you nearby don't cut my tailgate let's head downstairs two greats Nelson she's got the answer to our trivia question grace [Music] asked you in the second quarter which quarterback led the Southwest attack answers for 1995 state championship the answer Quincy Carter he went on to play at Georgia and was also drafted by the Dallas Cowboys tonight's winner is a Rashard Collins Rashard answered the call very quickly on Facebook thank you to everyone who participated so Rashard will be sitting here football Fridays in Georgia t-shirt for you to wear the rest of this season thank you guys back to you all up in the booth thank you very much grace speaking of dogs in the Alzheimer's Quincy Carter was a special player I had the opportunity to play against him and as a junior him in the southwest at Camp anthers whipped up on the Brooklyn Broncos pretty good and a quarter files back in 94 so I know what kind of a player Quincy was he was a heck of a Georgia Bulldog player and one of those dogs that played in the NFL there are a lot of them yeah yeah Oliver was one of them Chris Carter went on to be the quarterback of the cat Dallas Cowboys America's team that's that's quite an accomplishment in ns pinch no TJ talk a little bit about the young players that you know the county has [Music] [Music] yeah one thing that your dad told us on the phone is he seems like it's got a little bit more pep in his step this year because he's so excited about his team from top to bottom in years past when you played and I was telling Reggie earlier that that team that you guys had with Craig Lumpkin and yourself and Reggie was probably the most fun that I've ever had watching a high school football team but you didn't necessarily have the depth from top to bottom this year he feels excited about the depth and he thinks that the camaraderie and the unity with these guys is probably at an all-time high here at Stephenson which he thinks might be able to propel them a little bit deeper into the postseason they talked about unity right there on fourth down this this deep is definitely stepped up on the goal line eyes as I talked about I really want to see if they're gonna challenge themselves and you can see right there the big boys up front making it making it happen baby this is where you're making money this is where you get the college scouts to come in and see what you're made of when your backs against the wall good job by the Stephenson defense it's important for these defensive guys to keep that shutout in tact but back what we were saying TJ just talk about the camaraderie and unity in this year's team the 2013 Jaguars high this year's team I got a chance to see them with it when they came out of the locker room these guys are just so these guys are family and they work hard together in the offseason they put a lot of work in during the summertime in the hot and sweltering heat and stuff like that they're just so close together they just you know take it now now I can't you have to comment about this band now you know a bigger band so y'all talk about my dad was a drum major but those of the college were both of these schools South let the scab and Stevenson mirror mirror they bandsaw album family you in with don't cut my college and a lot of HBCUs how big is the band to the school spirit of steepness and Southwest cap mr. Washington bear told you you know it has a good program but and Southwest has a great program as well these people that come in the game ask you to watch the band yeah I mean they get down they have a great time and they go back and forth as you can see you know Stephenson the play of songs and Southwest to come back and play the same same song the scene the plays of Greta so how the speaking of bands our own John Nelson had the opportunity last year where we were here to direct the Stevens or the Southwest DeKalb and and now he's climbing up the ladder over here on the home side line getting ready on his perch to direct the Stevenson band man Tech Nelia check this guy out there [Music] and we'll get down to him after the break as he's getting set up he's got to get comfortable up there we don't want Nelly falling off of a 10-foot ladder now middle up the Middl to Cortese Logan legacy Southwest DeKalb a baby just trying to fight to hold on and hold on the home line as you see students around their punt team my daughter on a football field this county has so much to be proud of you talk about all the athletes that had over like last year 2013 I had 132 division one football players out of this cut out of this county TJ you know you grew up in you know let's spend some of your experiences with recruiting in and the college coaches coming here first to this county oh man it's awesome just example a lot of the guys that that came out of this county [Music] [Applause] [Music] so after the change of possession we are going to take a break Georgia Piedmont Technical College is more than 130 programs of study from accounting and cosmetology to firefighting and law enforcement and our newest addition design media production technology new skills are within reach G PTC helps empower you to achieve your dreams let's talk about the teams trying to get to the next level [Applause] [Applause] [Music] now downstairs the John Nelson for the encore presentation of what you just saw he's directing the Southwest at cap van last year and here he goes with the Stevenson band this year [Music] thank you kind of jump you never know what you're gonna get on football Fridays in Georgia and speaking of ice bath after all that movie down there on the sidelines John Nelson might need to find one after the day make the most I've ever seen him moving and he's directing let's go alright that's the number one that's the number one song in college football and HBCUs let's go that's the man one stone and here's the nice pass down the middle of the field for Gabriel Richardson he's made a couple of nice plays so far tonight but his moves not nearly as good as Nellie's moves down on the sidelines yeah and that leads to beyond they're playing receivers from Southwest cab man they take me to come for those moves on the football field tonight first down a 10-4 southwest a cab at the 32 is they try to break the shutout and put some points on the floor before the end of the game - is completed the 26-yard line shy the first down the trophy Riley making the catch he's still jamming baby [Music] hey there you go John nothing great job as always [Applause] second a good old time man you gotta love it we find a way to make things exciting here on Friday nights and that's why we appreciate you so much for tuning in trade McDaniel Pilon Johnson and the very talented 21 to go in the game here Southwest DeKalb trails they try to put some points on the board and break the shutout yeah man Sam white is coming across the middle on the knife jig route to receivers in the same spot somebody got the wrong call there but hey you gotta catch those man could that possibly set them up for the 1st floor.there night Sam white number 17 9 catches on the air and there is a very telling story there from our graphic just 85 yards from scrimmage for the Panthers 244 for the Stephenson Jaguars third down and 5 Anderson going middle of the field and he's got his man inside the 5 yard line for first down and goal I got a question for you man give me a few keys for Georgia to win this football game tomorrow against LSU is quickly right after this replay as you can see Southwest cab going down the middle pretty much the same route catching the safety of guard there so give us a couple of your keys for tomorrow's bit wrinkle Georgia I think I think the big key because the defense has to play well they have to play well Erin Erin Murray has to have a great game have a hard time this year so far you know they play better last week with a less opponent I saw a lot of new faces out there to secondary their trade and you know you took your son to his first football game last week he had a good time we got drenched but it was a lot of fun so back to your point a couple of freshmen start to the defensive backfield they've gone through some growing pains and there's your first touchdown of the game for Jacoby Riley and the first touchdown of the game for the Southwest the cat Panthers and Jamis spirits Jacobi Riley but you know after this game this guy's beginning rough for him to hold the whole night he's the kicker he's the receiver he's a plant returner he doesn't like game spirits now man especially in this really nice dog fight they're putting up their first test down for tonight did a great job and catching the ball and putting both feet down for the touchdown good job so with a minute 48 to go in the game Southwest the campfire gets on the board and they tack on the extra point it's now 35 to 7 Oh chi-su touchdown replay take us through this nice little fade right there coach say hey my guy is better yo got the DBS skin lost there nice catch nice toes and end zone there's your C Drive also brought to you by tcsg five plays fifty yards three minutes and five seconds and you know we talked about this every week Keelan it's something positive to put on film to build on for the next game you definitely gotta do they call that growing pains coaching points come Monday or Sunday whenever these teams watch film it's gonna be some positive it's gonna be some negatives and that's won't be some things that you want to know capitalize on and one thing you know today one thing about the camera the sky no lies you had a good receiver coach great receiver coaching Coast the Fab five at Florida State and Johnny C and he was your receiver coach that Jordan knows one of the things he gets on yeah at the practice when it when the camera goes on right call definitely definitely with the camera goes off [Music] sometimes the coach waits to get what you think about the play out of your mouth and then he shows you the play to see if you're trying to pull a fast one all right exactly I remember just sitting in the meeting room and I know every play that I messed up on I know every play did that do it well no so I was kind of headed to borrow ahead of the game there let's take a look at Stevenson's upcoming schedule they play Tucker but they do have a week off and keep in mind Tucker is the number one ranked school in the 5a classification and it's also also the school where Dallas and Chauncey rivers play football the last three years and now you look at Southwest to cap schedule as they were gonna fall to one in four after tonight's game they've got North Atlanta and then they play Tucker Arabia Mountain the Miller Grove enough Dunwoody those are all winnable games and kealan you and I have seen some talent not necessarily depth on Southwest acav steam but they certainly have some players at the skilled positions if they can put it together and they can put it together his sister thing man you know this is a cab County these guys for the 132 players individual ones football that [ __ ] these guys are going to school in this County they just got to get themselves to a point where they can find their identity what should I find your identity you get the right athletes in the right place the coach can really coach those wins and they can put something together here they can least become a 500 team don't you think [Music] TJ before we let you go my last question for you is there's been a lot of continuity with your dad's coaching staff he's had a lot of guys who stick with him for a lot of years coach Don sellers is one of those guys talk about what it means to these young men to see the same faces year in and year out and what it's meant to the development of this program it's just consistency it's stability these guys a lot of times these guys in middle school today were able to come up to the high school and then see the coaches and they don't have to worry about the coaches not being here the next year and it kind of helps them some that comfort level that they need making that transition coming into high school well TJ we really appreciate you joining us and before we let you go what you up to these days well I'm managing own a financial services offices in Snellville so I kind of do a little coaching is when you're in Brookwood territory that's why that's my part of town for the day [Music] well TJ we really appreciate you joining us come back anytime good luck to the Jags for the rest of the season thank you guys so much for happy thank you very much so with a minute to go in the fourth quarter thirty five to seven Stevenson as they pick up a first down and move inside Southwest DeKalb territory and for the first time tonight backup quarterback junior Duan Ford is in the game we thought we might see Ford a little bit earlier as coach gartrell has played both of those young men at quarterback this year but weekly has done such a great job tonight that he's bringing in dewann ford and letting him have the honors of lining up in victory formation [Applause] let's head downstairs real quick for a last scoring update from John Nelson Ellie some stuff from all around the state southeast Bullock over Johnson Savannah 31 2008 hangs on over central Phenix City 4140 big news out of one 6a Colquitt County was blowing out lounge 38-7 coffee was leading tip 2120 halfway through the fourth and Arabian Mountain and Tucker were tired sorry in baby Mountain and okay they were tied at six in the fourth quarter so we're still waiting to hear on that one so that could impact the region after this first week is gone and you want to talk about a lot of action going on and the applecart might have been thrown around a little bit tonight was the night for it to happen guys absolutely things get so exciting once region play starts and once we get into all these rivalry games we'll have another one of them coming up next week Lassiter at Walton up in northern Cobb County that'll be the last play of this game Stephenson puts another one on the board the number two team in the state and proves they are undefeated there's your all-access pass beginning at 7 o'clock kickoff will be at 7:35 and just love how we roam around the state peel and get all the big matchups can't wait to see that one we saw walk through the pel classic we're good to see their improvement and last year year and a year out has that five powered spread often we get to see that as well yeah we've been doing a lot of traveling trip and get my gas miles up boss banana I'm enjoying this man this has been really good man this to see these teams out here in the state of Georgia just playing hard sticking together meeting coaches meeting these players very good game tonight goodbye Stephenson on the offense side of ball and a deep inside of the ball Southwest calavius you got some things to do if you want to take it down to see what Nellie has for us Nellie take it away thank you guys here with a coach no deadline pressures tonight thirty five seven final yeah great game by our kids and you know we're just making another step one more step toward where we want to get to and while I'm saying this I wanna say hello to my mom to grade his mom in the whole wide world down in Washington Georgia but uh we're proud of our guys you know what you know we're prepared and this shoulder specially in the first half and at the same time a game like this you know that you're too deep is pretty deep even three deep it's a too deep it gives you a chance to get those other guys some reps too yeah uh kids work hard you know they compete and you know they want to play and you know they compete and work hard and get that opportunity and when they get an opportunity they need to take advantage of them and most of them do all right thanks for your time Congrats on the win we'll catch up thank you Thank You Trey and keelin the beach is now closed take us home thank you very much John Stevenson improves the five and OH on the season they got a big matchup in two weeks against
