I'm Venice Buhain, in for Paris Jackson.

Every night for 20 years, a Seattle artist has made one small piece of art.

Multimedia journalist Taylor Mirfendereski shows us the tiny canvas Clare Johnson uses and the stories hidden in every piece.

-Seattle artist Clare Johnson is sketching her morning swim.

-It was just so pretty.

-A sticky note isn't where most of us would save a memory, but that's the point.

-I thought it would be amazing to document my life in something that was meant to be thrown away.

I just started doing a nightly post-it drawing.

This is the very first one I made.

2005, feeling a little broken.

-Her project, A Life In Sticky Notes, has spanned almost her entire adult life.

-This is election day...2018.

2009.

I mean, these ones are really from, like, last week.

-Each night, just one moment makes the cut.

-It's of the encore performance.

I needed a way to hold memories and make my life feel visible as a queer person.

2010 wasn't a great year.

You can see some heartbreak happening.

This one I found out that I was getting divorced.

-But even in the hardest years.. -What really gets saved are these small moments each day that are really powerful to help us get through harder times.

Somebody had a bubble machine in their apartment window.

-She's now sharing her project in talks across the state, hoping it helps others give weight to their small joys.

-This project shows how many little tiny things are inside each person that we would never know about.

-For Johnson, so far that 6719 little moments.

And tonight she'll save one more.

-Next time we'll tell you about the restoration of a program that distributes thousands of books to kids in King County.
