(upbeat music) - Live from 92NY is a new series streaming groundbreaking cultural programming from New York's renowned 92nd Street.
Charlotte Constantino with the IJ and Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center is here with all of the details.
Hi, Charlotte.
- Hi, Laura.
Thanks for having me.
- Oh, it's so great to have you here.
And what a cool new partnership that you have.
Tell us about how this came about.
- We're thrilled.
So we're working with 92NY, which is a cultural institution in New York City.
They have live programming that we will be streaming here in Salt Lake City, so we can bring New York City to Salt Lake.
This is gonna be monthly programming that will be an in-person event.
And then we also have special access for our members to three other events every month that are just on demand.
So what we're trying to do with this series is have people gather in person, but also build community around coming together for events.
They will be once a month for the upcoming calendar year.
- Once a month, that's so exciting.
And how cool that you're gonna bring New York to Salt Lake City, and of course, I'm a community gatherer as well, so I love that people get to gather for this and experience that together.
So tell us what you have coming up in September.
- We're very excited, because our first event is going to be September 30th, and Kate McKinnon will be speaking.
She's gonna have conversation, but also do some comedy because she is an alum of SNL.
And she's also doing, she's releasing her second book that is for middle-aged readers, so it's great for our community, because of course there's going to be that adult audience, but then we're doing it in our activity center, which is where we have our afterschool program, so we can incorporate some of our elementary-age people as well, so it's gonna be really for the whole community.
- I love that the intergenerational interaction is great as well.
Tell us a little bit more about what people who participate in this are gonna find.
- Absolutely.
This first one is gonna be mostly the comedy event, but then there are all kinds of programs that we get to tap into.
So some will be talks on political economy, some will be arts and culture events, some will be dance events, et cetera.
And often, they'll come with a discussion guide.
So it's gonna be, again, an opportunity to come together over many different interests and then have community and conversations as part of the event.
- Oh, what a great idea and a great series.
Thank you so much for telling us about it.
- Thank you.
- If you would like to learn more about this series coming to the Jewish Community Center here in Salt Lake, it's called "Live From 92NY."
The Kate McKinnon one is happening on September 30th, not to be missed.
It's at 6:00 PM at the JCC Activity Center.
You can RSVP by email to community@slcjcc.org.
