Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(door sliding) (pram scuffling) - [Julie] We go for walks three or four times a week.
I get to go out and hang out in the neighborhood and find cool new places and stuff like that.
And just get a little bit of exercise in.
- Oh, now I get to meet him.
- [Julie] And then stop and let people see the kitties and get whatever they need from the cats as far as comfort, or just somebody to say hi to if they need somebody.
- That one's sleeping.
- Most people really enjoy it.
Like, at first, they're kind of startled because they don't see cats all the time and then they like it and they get to pet 'em.
And then the cats like enjoying going outside and getting to explore new places and things like that.
And then they like all the attention that they get all the time from it.
(mysterious upbeat music) We actually like to go to Cathedral Square the most because there's always something going on so they can kind of enjoy people watching.
(mysterious upbeat music) Tigger, the orange one, he stays in the stroller.
He doesn't like getting his paws dirty, so he doesn't get out.
(mysterious upbeat music) And then Toulouse actually likes to go on the slide.
So, he likes to do that.
So, this is kind of like everybody can get some enjoyment from it.
(enchanting xylophone music) I would say if you're going to try this, that I would start with shorter walks in like warm weather, just so that they can get used to it first.
(mysterious upbeat music) This is actually the only family I have in Wisconsin.
I mean, I think they're special.
I don't think it's anything that other cats couldn't do if they have the proper training and just have the opportunity to do something like that.
I firmly believe that you can teach cats how to do things.
So, you just have to maybe take more time than what you would with dogs.
So, I don't think they're exceptional in the fact that they can be trained, I just think they get to live a life that's not normal, I guess, for cats to live.
(mysterious upbeat music) I think the worst part of the day is having to go home.
