And welcome to the final performance of the wind orchestra for this school year.
We're very excited about tonight's program, a lot of variety of the program, we hope you'll enjoy.
And for those of you who are watching us online, welcome, we're happy to have you with us.
Now, the last piece of "Anti-Fanfare" was written because a lot of fanfares involve brass and percussion.
And this one involves woodwinds and percussion.
And so thus the title, "Anti-Fanfare".
Looking forward to again presenting a very varied programmed for you this evening.
Hope you enjoy it, and again, thank you for being here.

And all those cliche little passages and things that you hear in the old Bugs Bunny movies and Road Runner and all that, you're gonna hear in this piece.
So we hope you enjoy this next piece, "Cartoon".

It's been a pleasure performing for you.
And it's been a pleasure working with these students this semester.
The final number that we're going to do is "Western One-Step", and it's from a five moment suite, "Old American Dances" by Robert Russell Bennet.
And it's just a fantastic piece of music.
It's rather lengthy.
And so what I've done is two semesters ago we played the first movement.
Last semester we played this movement, err, the second movement, and now this semester we're playing the third movement.
And you can expect next semester we'll play the fourth.
And so this is "Western One-Step".
I want to dedicate this to this ensemble.
I told them earlier today how much gratitude I have towards them and what a wonderful semester it's been, and how it's been wonderful for me to have the opportunity to spend four hours a week in rehearsal with them and leave the rest of the world behind and just enjoy making music and making music for what it is.
And that is a gift from God.
And we really appreciate everything that we've been able to do this semester.
And so this is going to be "Western One-Step", and this one is on their own, because again, I want you to acknowledge them, and this is my way of acknowledging them too, by saying thank you.
And thank you for being a fantastic partners in making music with me.
So this is "Western One-Step".
