I call it "motel swing" cause it's kind of bluesy swing, or swingy blues.
And we do a lot of rhythm and blues, a lot of some standard type things and some originals, but they're in that category, some New Orleans-y stuff, but it's basically swing.
And so I have a big giant swing dance following.

♪ Sue: My band started in about 2000 and I, of course, asked a lot of the people I knew that lived here in San Diego that I've been playing with in the 80s and 90s, here, a lot of them from the Belly Up, almost all of them.
And almost all of them are here tonight.
And for years, for like 40 years, I've played with April West, who plays trombone, and Sharon Shufelt on drums.
And we've played in various bands, and they sing, and they do anything that we need to do musically, you know, and it always worked out really well.
Anyway, I have all the bases covered in this band.
