Seventy-five years ago Tampa was the "Cigar Capital of the World." There were more than 150 cigar companies rolling 500 million cigars a year! Today there is only one major cigar manufacturer, J.C. Newman Cigar Company, a 114-year-old family business that has kept cigar manufacturing alive in Tampa practically single-handedly.
