Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipAfter a long hiatus due to COVID, we are having our annual book sale, which is our biggest fundraiser for the public library during the year.
We had more books this year than we've probably ever had, simply because we weren't able to have a sale during any of that time.
So this represents a big contribution to the public library.
All the funds we raise go to them for the purchase of new materials, things they otherwise might not be able to purchase.
And librarians can school vouch for this: People going to ask when is your book sales going to be?
It's still a big event, regardless of all the people that have Kindles and all of the things.
A heck of a lot of folks and still want a book in their hands.
Increasingly, the library is actually more than just a repository of books.
It's actually a community resource, whether they're here to use the computers whether they're here for meetings during the school year.
A lot of children come here to take advant Those are all things that take place here.
That is a community outreach and to make this building a real center for the city and Superior.
