♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ Surfer Joe: I started calling myself Surfer Joe since I think 1999.
I got involved listening to California music.
I say California music because my first love had been actually Beach Boys.
Jenna Dean, and then Ronny and the Daytonas.
All those kind of surf sound, drag sound, you know?
Only later on in late 90s, I got more and more involved into the instrumental side of the music.
And then, you know, you never know why you get into something so deeply but I just got brought into the thing and I decided to dedicate it all to instrumental music.
I like to play loud as hell when I can.
And that's it, you know, it's just a feeling to be on stage and play the music with the other guys, be loud and get a good feeling.
And if the audience is there and likes it, it's even better.
I like a lot the small places sometimes for surf music.
Sometimes small places are very much fun because you have a direct contact with the people.
And you know, this music is one of the few genres that actually are played from the amplifiers.
It's very important that you get that volume, that sound from them.
So all those things together are really what I like to play music and like surf music.
