(gentle music) - Well, picture this, live jazz music, relaxing wellness sessions, and uplifting community connection.
Survivor Wellness invites you to a spring celebration.
One of the many people who is making this celebration happen is Dana Levy, who is right in our studio right now.
Dana, tell me about this event and also tell me about Survivor Wellness.
- Thanks, Liz.
It's great to be here.
Jazz for Spring is our garden party and open house, and we invite the community to come to Survivor Wellness, to the two beautiful historic homes, the gardens, the yoga space, the counseling cottage, and be in that space and see what it's like because when you have a cancer diagnosis, it's hard to find community.
It's hard to feel maybe comfortable with everyone, and we're always looking to figure out who we are, I think.
So we have this event to offer the community to come in and see what it's like there without any commitment.
- And you guys cover the entire spectrum of people who are facing cancer, the patients as well as the caregivers.
Why is that important to provide this support for everyone?
- Yeah.
As soon as you hear the words you have cancer, you're considered a cancer survivor.
Most people don't know that.
And while the hospitals and clinics can provide wonderful medical treatment as well as some similar services and support, it's often offered only to that hospital's patients.
Some folks don't wanna go back to the hospital.
Sometimes it's not accessible for caregivers.
And also sometimes it comes with a financial cost.
And we're here to provide free services and support so that we don't increase the financial burden of a cancer diagnosis and can help both the survivor and the caregiver move forward in a place that's comfortable and relaxing and where they can learn and grow together.
- Well, thank you so much for sharing this information.
And if you would like to get more information about Jazz for Spring Garden Party and Open House, it's right there on your screen.
