Matt Slonaker and Julie Sotelo share what families can look forward to.
Hi, Julie.
Let's start with you, so let's talk about why you're doing this and why it's important to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
- Well, we are celebrating our tenth annual event this year.
We start with just an idea to create an awareness for our community about our service, and this build up to a big event.
We are now about 10,000 people coming in with a lot of resources, and one of the important things we think is about what we provide to our community, which is many resources that people benefit from, and they can have information there and actually do what they need to do there.
- Okay, great, and now we'll come to you, so tell us, Matt, about all the health services that are going to be offered at this.
- Absolutely, yeah, unique to this event, you can have a lot of fun, but you can also get your health checked, so we'll have dental care provided, we'll have vaccinations provided, you name it.
Anything that a standard health fair would have, that will be available, health screenings of various kinds.
Also, mammography, those appointments are required to be booked ahead of time, but there's a way to do that.
You can go to our website and find the number to call to book an appointment, and we'll have, for younger kids, free coats available, so a lot of services, but a whole lot of fun, too.
We'll have live music, great food.
We look forward to having the Utah Jazz and Mammoth support our family area for the event, and that's, as you can imagine, going to have a lot of basketball, some hockey, and some giveaways, and a lot of fun activities.
so come have a lot of fun, get your health checked, maybe win a prize, and just have a great afternoon.
- Wonderful.
Well, thank you both for being here, and best of luck with everything.
- Thank you.
