The eights are about just under 60 feet long.
There's long as a semi that goes down the freeway.
They pull these boats away from the dock and they do a workout and they get back and they get the boats into the boathouse.
And all of that can only be done if everyone works together.
Every step of the way.
I'm a captain for the DRC.
I have been for the past two years.
Usually that's just like helping people get started on the boats, getting the coach boats ready for the coaches, taking them on the run, stretching, and mainly just being a leader for everyone to follow.
So it's really endurance based, but it's also a lot of power base.
So it's kind of a mix of everything.
It's like a sprint, but a long distance sprint.
I like it because it's really community based.
Like, you have to work together with people to be successful.
I really enjoy working with people and having a conflict and then resolving it, which happens a lot at the DRC.
Everyone should try it at least once in their life because it's such an amazing feeling.
Once you lock in with the people in your boat it's like no other feeling I can describe.
