San Antonio Judge Appointed to lead Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

San Antonio senior judge John Specia has agreed to accept an appointment from Governor Rick Perry as the new commissioner of the state Department of Family and Protective Services. The agency includes Child Protective Services which is a chronically embattled agency that is the target for critics almost every time a child dies from neglect or abuse.
