Bexar County District Attorney sets up team of prosecutors to clear innocent prisoners

Since the advent of DNA as a highly reliable tool for identifying criminal suspects, we have been confronted with an uncomfortable fact: We have sent more than a few innocent people to prison and possibly to execution for murder, rape and other crimes. In recognition of this fact, first-year District Attorney Nico Lahood has set up a little-known office to investigate serious innocence claims.
