Like we've all been playing in bands for many, many years.
And we were all kind of involved in like the early 2000's kinda like punk rock scene like, I was playing in a band.
Ryan was playing in another band.
Johnny was playing in another band.
And we all just kinda met each other through just like playing shows.
Through like the ska-punk nights, like at The Buzz, like back in the day.
We hit it off and when the other bands kinda went their own separate ways, it was always Ryan and I, specifically, we're just like, we need to be in a band.
- Yeah - We need to start a band.
- Chris and I had the discussion if, you know, if our current bands situations become untenable then we'll call each other.
So I called him one night and that was it.
2004 was when we started so.
- I think our energy on stage comes from music.
I mean playing together.
- Yeah, yeah.
- That'd be my vote.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- It's hard for me to imagine being able to stand still playing our music, much less our music.
And it just comes naturally for us.
And we all kinda each have our own style but it works really well together so.
And these guys are some of my closest friends so playing music with them in a live setting just really gets me very excited and fired up.
So it's such just a joy.
- It's very comfortable to play with these guys.
You just, kinda let loose when you get on stage.
I think as far as the songs, we want them to be relatable.
A lot of the stuff is, you can kinda make your own interpretation of it with the lyrics and whatnot.
I love the writing yeah.
There's a lot more deeper meaning to and just want everyone to take the songs and make them their own and get their own meaning out of them.
- Obviously the words are super important and stuff.
But I'm really just looking for like, just a melody that you can just sing along to.
And just be in your car alone and just singing it at the top of your lungs.
And like not even caring like yeah.
- Yeah, I'd seen that carry over to our live shows.
When the crowds will be singing, we'll see some people singing the words back to us.
That's probably the coolest thing that we've experienced in big and small venues.
So just relating to the songs that we're getting into like we do.
♪ So the story goes ♪ ♪ This one is just the same ♪ ♪ Yeah, it starts with whom you know ♪ ♪ She said his love was just a game ♪ ♪ To him it's a real dream of ten.
