6/24/2018 | 6m 17sVideo has Closed Captions

San Francisco transgender women tell story of rioting for their rights in immersive play.

Take a seat at the recreated 1966 dinner counter of Compton’s Cafeteria in San Francisco and experience what it was like to be a part of the first known militant queer resistance by transgender women and drag queens who decided they’d withstood enough police harassment and brutality. The immersive theater experience draws on the real-life story of Donna Personna, embodied by Shane Zaldivar.
