He's the best thing that I've ever heard and turned me on to a bunch of Motown, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, all that kind of stuff, but with the band, we're kind of all over the place, but funk is the middle ground, and so Earth, Wind, and Fire; George Clinton, Parliament, Funkadelic, Sly & the Family Stone, that kind of late or, like, mid-late '70s funk music is really what all ties us together.
