Last year when Massachusetts opened its first two recreational marijuana dispensaries, they sold over $2 million dollars of product in just five days. Some lawmakers in New York State want New York to get into the recreational marijuana business as well, but rather than allow corporate actors to run the market, they want low wealth and minority communities to benefit.
