15,000 of my newest closest friends.
(audience laughing) The nativity story means something special to us as women.
The journey to Bethlehem, the stable, the manger, we don't take any of that lightly.
Mary is not just another character in the Bible.
She is a mother, a first time mother with a unique role and responsibility.
I still remember my feelings when I learned I was expecting a daughter, feelings that are perfectly expressed in this next song.
Whether we are daughters, sisters, aunts, mothers, or grandmothers, Christmas for us includes thinking about new life coming into the world and nurturing the next generation.
It's the story we all share as women; the story that goes on.
