Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- I've been on one about these vouchers for the last year.
I unfortunately think this will be the, probably the worst public policy decision Tennessee has made in decades, and that's saying something.
I urge you to look at the recent (indistinct) put out a report yesterday on the initial voucher program that happened in just a few counties.
And what it came up with was already pretty troubling.
You know, 75% of all the students weren't coming from, you know, these, you know, poor, failing public schools.
They were coming... They're basically, you're just funding existing private school students that were there anyway.
In fact, you know, I think 65% of the students were coming from a schools rated A, B, or C. And we've seen what has happened in these other states.
Look at Arizona, it's put almost a billion dollar hole in their budget.
I mean, these vouchers are essentially just a tapeworm for state budgets.
