Kentucky was hit, too, and to to caused some damage in Todd and Logan counties.
The Kentucky maisonette says that tornado touched down as an EF one tornado in Bowling Green.
Winds estimated at 90 miles per hour, took the roof off a motel and also caused damage to the roof of a warehouse.
It also took down electrical poles and a transformer at an AT&T substation leading to power outages.
This all taking place near the anniversary of the deadly tornado outbreak that hit Kentucky in two years ago.
We're no stranger to December tornado events here in Kentucky.
But that said, they are rather rare.
The one that occurred in 2021 occurred during a La Nina weather pattern.
This time we have an El Nino weather pattern in place.
But that said, it has been an unseasonably mild December thus far, which is reminiscent of two years ago, which was the warmest December on record for Kentucky.
The National Weather Service will wrap up preliminary reports in the next few days.
The Kentucky Maisonette says there's no threat of severe weather in the near future.
They say models indicate we're actually going to see mild to warm temperatures as we draw closer to the Christmas holiday.
