Because I feel like everybody has a different taste.
We don't all collectively listen to the same thing.
We branch out so much, which I think is very apparent in our songwriting at this point.
- I think it helps that we all kind of align on like, the same like, middle point.
- Middle ground?
- Yeah.
We all have like, an enjoy enjoyment of heavy music that kind of carried us through.
- I mean, as far as being like, "This is what we're gonna sound like," I don't think we ever knew.
- [Band Mate] I still don't think we really know.
- Yeah.
I still think it's growing.
I think, regardless of your influence, you can love as many bands as you want, but by the time you sit down with your friends to write a song, it's gonna be that, you know?
And it's gonna maybe sound like things you like, but whatever comes out and through the change of five different people, it becomes its own thing.

'Cause in church you, you're loud, but you're nowhere near as loud as we are.
You want the lyrics to carry the whole service, and like, I do try to treat the shows kind of like a sermon in a sense.
Obviously not in like, a verbatim way, but... - [Band Mate 2] Can I say it?
- (laughs) Chill, chill, chill.
Chill, chill, chill.
I don't know.
Like, I do want it to feel like you're there, and it's like a service.
I don't know, like a religious experience, and I think that the loudness aspect of it, you get to feel that because, in church, you feel something when you're connected to the lyricism anthe sounds and stuff.
That's what was my favorite part about church is like, when I would hear like the guitars get louder and the, you know, the vocalists singing with more gumption and like, being more emotive.
I would, you know, start feeling more, so I think when we play and we get louder and you feel the rumble of the bass, and then you hear the drums crashing, you see all of us kind of getting really into it, you should feel that and it should tie into something in you, and I think that's at least my approach.
- Yeah.
I guess.
I mean, yeah.
Like we talked earlier, all the different types of music that we like, it's like a pretty wide spectrum of things, but one thing it all has in common is that it's loud, I guess.
Like shoegaze, doom metal, hardcore, all that.
All those different types on music, They make you feel something because it's this loud experience.
