The Treaty of Paris 1783 is the peace agreement between the American colonies and Great Britain, signed on September 3rd.
Among other negotiations, it recognized the US as a free, independent nation, very important, guaranteed a peaceful withdrawal of British troops, gave the US a huge amount of Northwestern land, which laid the groundwork for western expansion.
The treaty is named for the city where negotiations took place.
