A group claims the university isn't following the state's new anti-DEI law.

During the 2025 legislative session, lawmakers passed House Bill 4, which bans all diversity, equity and inclusion programs and offices at the state's public universities. The Goldwater Institute says UK's board of trustees did not follow through with part of the law requiring the adoption of a policy prohibiting discrimination on the basis of a person's political or social viewpoint.
