Ukrainian separatist rebels elect new leaders for breakaway republic
Separatists held an election in the breakaway regions of Eastern Ukraine on Sunday, asserting their independence from Kiev. Ukrainian officials denounced the vote, saying it was in direct violation of an agreement with Russia.
