The lab is sequencing every positive test it gets, expecting to find omicron soon

Kean University’s doubling down on its hunt for COVID-19 strains driven by the sudden arrival of omicron in NJ. At its Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics, a lab sequences genetic materials extracted from positive nose swab samples, collected from test sites around the campus and Union County. Researchers expect to find omicron "probably within this week -- or next week."
