(upbeat music) - University of Utah and University Health are holding their annual Giving Day fundraising event.
Senior Director Rachel Robertson is here to tell us more.
Hi Rachel, thanks for giving, for giving (laughs).
Thanks for giving, thanks for being here.
So tell us about Giving Day and why it's different from other fundraising.
- Yeah, thank you so much first for having me, Mary.
Really appreciate it.
So Giving Day is unique because it's the one time the university, everything from the health side, the academics, our community, we all come together to fundraise, whether you be an alum, a patient, a fan, a friend, a parent, student, faculty, staff member.
We have over 100 projects, and it really builds the university, but it also builds our Utah community around us.
It even builds the global community.
You can give to global scholarships in the Korea campus too.
But we have loads of opportunities, and it's just our biggest celebration.
This is our 7th year, and it is in conjunction with the university's 175th anniversary, which is 2025 this year.
And we are one of the key signature events, so we'll have a bunch of 175th anniversary things up our sleeve this year too, to make it super unique.
- Ah, that's great.
And so, how do people get involved?
How do they give?
- Yeah, so we have multiple ways to get involved.
You can give financially when the site opens.
We have a lot of generous match and challenge donors and sponsors that will double your gift if you give or triple.
So we have sponsorship opportunities, and then we also have a way for you just to promote.
You can be what we call a Champion.
You get your own little personal URL link, and you can help fundraise for any project you choose.
And most of it is online, but we also have in-person events on campus on April 8th and 9th down by the union.
But just come join us or celebrate us or post online with #UGivingDay.
- Wow, that's amazing.
And I know there are all sorts of projects that you can fund, and it really helps the university.
So I hope you get a lot of involvement and thanks for being here.
Thank you.
- Thank you for having me.
